"ANNN-UHHHH," my best friend screeched at me, trying to tug the blanket off of me, "Wake up already! It's THE day!"

I peeked out from the pillow over my head and tried to give Jenny my best death glare. "Goway" I mumble.

Jenny just stood there with her hands on her hips, fuming, her red curls a mess after her jumpfest on my bed. "THAT'S IT! I'm giving you TWO MINUTES to get up before I throw a bucket of ice cold water over you," She threatened, her nostrils flaring, "and you very well know I'm not kidding around."

I knew for a fact she wasn't, having been a victim of her impulses before too. Couldn't blame her though, I was a nuisance to wake in the morning. That was one of the reasons why I started putting a pillow over my head while sleeping; it acted as a cover from the icy water and saved myself from a brainfreeze.

I removed the pillow from my head and sat up, sighing. I knew it was futile to resist Jenny, she was a force to be reckoned with and my laziness would further antagonise her into a full blowout.

But that didn't mean I'd let her drag me from my bed at ungodly hours without working for it.

"Give me ONE good reason why I would willingly get out of bed at -" I peeked at the alarm clock on the side table, "- five in the morning on a Saturday!" I glared at her.

She glared back. "Because, my annoyingly forgetful banshee, the picnic is today and your crush is going to be there. So unless you suddenly decided to skip the picnic and drop Plan Get Him, get your butt off of the bed and start getting ready."

Wait a minute.

Saturday. Picnic. Crush. Plan Get Him.

I slapped a palm on my forehead. I totally forgot about the plan!

I jumped out of the bed, ignoring Jenny's "Finally the idiot wakes up" and hurried into the bathroom we shared in the suite. I took a quick shower, brushed my teeth and put on the outfit that took two weeks of planning and rejecting half of the closet before Jenny and I tripped over this at the bottom of the pile of clothes.

I looked at myself in the mirror, drying my hair and brushing them till they fell like a long dark curtain till my waist. I usually wore my hair in a messy bun with a pencil or pen stuck to hold it upright, but I chose to wear it down today, another checkpoint on my to-do list for Plan Get Him. I applied some transparent lip gloss and mascara, checked my reflection once more and shuffled out of the bathroom.

Jenny saw me and stopped me with her arm at the door to my room, circling me and examining how I looked. I looked down at my outfit consciously. A fitted white long sleeved shirt with slits at the elbow that made my dusky skin glow and accentuated my tiny waist and curves, high waisted jean shorts that exposed my legs and cute white flip flops, a find of Target, on my feet.

"Perfect," Jenny exclaimed and clapped her hands in excitement, "just one more thing and you'll be ready to rock Plan Get Him like no one's business." She quickly darted into her room, across from mine, and brought a silver charm bracelet and handed it to me. I put it on and twirled for a dramatic effect.

Jenny laughed and pushed me into my bedroom, reminded me to get everything ready, and left to throw on her own outfit. She was one of the women who took only ten minutes to get ready. I envied her speed.

I ran inside my room, took the already packed duffle bag, picked up my purse, plugged my phone out of the charger and went outside into the tiny kitchenette adjoining the living room. I took out a bottle of water from the miniature fridge, chugged down half of it and screwed the lid back on, tapping my knuckles on the counter counting the minutes till Jenny reappeared.
