"Alright class, for your first assignment you're going to write about yourself. Write about your age, your family, your friends, or anything that describes you. Good luck you have five minutes." My English teacher, Mr. Rowan, tells us on our first day of school as I start my paper.

One word I would use to describe myself is outgoing. I've been told that I'm very outgoing since I was five by my family and friends. My name is Destiny Blanton. I'm 17 years old and I live in Miami, Florida. My parents raised me as an only child so we have a close bond. My best friends are Monica Davis, Mackenzie Payne, and Bonnie Edger. We have been best friends since the second grade.

After I turn my paper into Mr. Rowan, I return to my seat and fiddle with my pencil until the bell rings. "Hey Destiny!" I hear a familiar female voice yell. I turn to find Bonnie at the other side of the hall. "Hey Bonnie, what class did you come from?" I ask her as we find each other in the middle of the hallway. "Spanish. What about you?" she asks. "English," I answer as I gesture towards the room I was previously in. "What class are you going to?" I say as we push through people. "Math, you?" she says, "Me too, I think that Monica and Mackenzie have math with us." I tell her as we make our way to math class. "Thats cool!" Bonnie tells me as we walk through the doorway of the classroom. "Bonnie! Destiny! Over here!" I hear Monica yell and pat the seats next to her.

The rest of the day is the usual first day chaos until last period when I see him. His face appears to be glowing in the fluorescent lights of the school as he laughs and smiles with his friends. His orange polo shirt make his blue eyes stand out along with his blonde hair. But then something blocks my view. As I snap back to reality, I realize it is Gavin talking to this mysterious new guy. I've always hated Gavin ever since the sixth grade.

It was my sixth grade year and I thought that Gavin was so cute. He would always catch me when I was staring at him when one day he came up to me after class. He asked my if I wanted to go out with him and of course I said yes, biggest mistake ever.

Two months later

My relationship with Gavin was going great, or so I thought, when out of no where he said he wanted to break up because I wasn't a good girlfriend and before he left he said, "It's not me it's you." To make it worse he told everybody everything that I ever told him, and I told him EVERYTHING!

And that's why I hate Gavin.

Then I hear Gavin introduce the new kid to the other guys as Justin, so that's what this mystery guy's name is. As I turned to my friends I noticed that they did the guy handshake, and I quickly realize they are friends. This is going to be interesting. As I was thinking I looked at my friends and started to panic over the thought of our future, "What if he is always around when we start dating? What if he is the best man at our wedding? What if I have to spend the rest of my life with that idiot when Justin dies? My life is over!" I say as I picture my future with Justin and Gavin. "Slow down you don't even know him!" Mackenzie tells me as I realize that she's right.
