“It was dark, all I could hear was my own heartbeat and the crunching… Oh the crunching was so horrible. It echoed through the whole house, no way to tell where it’s coming from. I couldn’t take it anymore, I ran I ran so long my legs felt like jelly, but no matter how far I ran I couldn’t escape that sound. The constant crunch of something being chewed on! Then there was the slurping the insistent slurping! I continued running, then I tripped and fell then there was this horrible sound! A horrid beeping sound so high pitched I burst from my dream! But that wasn’t the worst part… IT WAS MONDAY!!!!!!”
All the kids around the fire burst out laughing, the kid who was telling the story had such a serious look on his face it was hard not to laugh at him. The counselor started to calm them all down saying “Alright, Alright, it’s time for us to go to sleep!” The boys all let a collective groan begging for one more story. “Alright fine, one more story!” said the counselor. “Who wants to tell this one?” I couldn’t help raising my hand, I had this amazing story I had been saving all night. “Alright everyone, quiet down.” The boys quieted down and I began my story…
“It was a bright summer day; the kids were all playing on the street while their parents watched from their porch. Then it happened; the world went dark, it wasn’t as if the sun had gone out, but it was pitch black. Then the sounds began, screams so horrible it made my blood run cold. All I could think to do was find a corner to hide. The screams continued for hours, I started to get hungry and thirsty and yet I was so scared that whatever was making the others scream would get to me if I moved… but I was going mad. Then suddenly… the screams stopped. The light came back and everyone was there, perfectly fine, or so it seemed. That’s when I saw them, on the roof of every house was at least one body, maybe more. Then It became apparent to me they were all skinned, they all looked identical. Suddenly a thought even more terrifying occurred to me, I realized that everyone was there, so it became clear to me; the ones who killed them were disguised as the ones they killed!”
