I ran. That's all I remember doing first. Running. Legs pumping. Heart beating. Lungs breathing faster than they should. The bitter wind whipping my face as I try to figure out my surroundings. I do not dare stop though, whatever I'm running from can't be good. I steady my pace so I'm not sprinting as much and keep heading in the direction I am going. Dodging trees...TREE's. I'm in some sort of forest or woods. Soft pine needles crunch underfoot along with a few scattered leaves from the trees that don't host the piercing green needles. So I must be in some sort of pine forest. Well I know more than a minute ago. I decide to focus on myself. I'm wearing some hard worn boots moulded almost exactly to the shape of my feet. Thick socks. Army green trousers that look very worn but are extremely comfortable. Some sort of soft cotton top under a thick black hoodie that looks just as worn as the trousers. It's very warm, even in this bitter wind, except for one cold patch on my chest. I look down briefly to see if there is some sort of hole in my hoodie but there is nothing there. Then I notice the presence of of a small silver chain around my neck.
Suddenly, an ear splitting roar from some sort of beast comes rushing through the trees like a tsunami. I cover my ears with my hands and close my eyes tight. Wanting with all my capability to block out the sound. The sound that causes pain. Intense pain. Unbearable pain. Like a migraine, but it spread like wild fire all over my body and much, much more painful. Still with my hands over my ears I open my eyes and continue. Braced for another one. The pain slowly subdues as I continue, walking now, though I don't release my hands, yet. I'm very deep into this pine forest now. The tall trees stretch up and up competing with each other to see which one will be taller. Little streams of light puncture the trees and make it down to the ground. Something rushes past me. It's quite large but not huge. It startles me so much I end up tripping over a tree root. I finally have to release my hands from my ears so I can cushion my landing. I hit the ground quite hard but don't seem to harm myself. Then it happens again. The roar. I feel like screaming from the pain as it ricochets through me. I crumple on the ground. Tears rolling down my face as I try not to scream as not to get the creatures attention. I look up briefly and see a beautiful grey wolf standing over me. That's when I black out.
