Dark Mark Sighted Over London

It appears that the disciples of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, now calling themselves "Death Eaters", have returned from the last battle to plague the world once more. Muggle authorities have been notified, the Muggle community urged to remain alert for sightings of what are known to them as a band of dangerous serial killers.

It is feared that He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and his forces are preparing for another attack. The Dark Mark, the chosen symbol of the self-proclaimed Dark Lord, was seen last Thursday outside an area of London densely populated by both magical and non-magical peoples.

All witches and wizards are prevailed upon to come forward with any information that could lead to the capture of these treacherous witches and wizards. The Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures also warns that He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named may have swayed a number of dark creatures to join his cause, including Inferi, giants, and werewolves. The notorious Fenrir Greyback is among the wanted, having attacked several magical and Muggle children over eleven years ago, when he escaped Ministry custody. We at the Daily Prophet urge you to bring the Ministry of Magic any information on any suspicious activity that may occur.

"Evelyn, do keep up. You have a train that will not wait for you."

Alphonsine Moreau's shrill voice only worsened Evelyn's throbbing headache, as she attempted to keep up with her parents' quick pace. With her owl, Bandit, hooting indignantly at the swinging and shaking of his cage, she tossed a blonde curl over her shoulder with a dignified huff and glared at the backs of her parents' custom-made robes from Twilfitt and Tattings'.

"I'm a sixth-year, Mum. I've never once been late to board the Hogwarts Express." Evelyn complained, nearly knocking her dragon-leather trunk into a Muggle couple hugging their first-year son, fresh-faced and already in his school robes.

"There's a first for everything." Her father, Claude, said gravely, barely glancing at her over his shoulder. "Or are you insinuating that you are so important that the Hogwarts Express wouldn't dare leave without you?"

Evelyn sneered. "I'm not insinuating anything, only that we musn't kill ourselves for me to be the first on the train." Nearly running into the backs of her parents who had stopped abruptly, she set down her trunk and owl cage immediately.

"There. You are neither the first on the train nor are you the last." Alphonsine said serenely for she was a woman who was nothing if not comfortable in safe mediocrity. "Fix your hair, Evelyn. It is incredibly unruly."

"I'll miss you too, Mum." Evelyn muttered, tying her blonde curls back with a black satin ribbon.

"Evelyn, remember to behave this year. You've already ruined our legacy, since your mother and I were both Ravenclaw prefects. If we receive one more letter from Slughorn that you've been misbehaving or stirring up trouble..." Claude trailed off, already pulling back his sleeve to check his gold watch. His brow furrowed, which Evelyn knew to mean that he had decided he had wasted enough of his day with his daughter. Claude Moreau's heart beat to the tick of his watch; any minute missed at the Ministry of Magic, any second not thinking about the Ministry of Magic was precious time wasted. Merlin, she despised that watch.

"Yes, and Evelyn, don't fraternize with that Clarke girl. The Guildfords say her parents are quite bad company, if you understand what I mean. Dangerous folk. I wouldn't want anyone of high society to assume that my daughter is cut from the same cloth." Her mother lowered her voice conspiratorially. "And certainly not Kenna Dover. Must I remind you that her parents are laborers?"
