The funeral was simple, traditional just as her father and step-mother would have wanted. Leggrethra smiled her step-mother would have loved all the pomp and circumstance of the Viking funeral, simple and to the point but ornate and rich at the same time. In her lap Saffron had cried herself to sleep.
Leggrethra thought to herself she had a hard road in front of her, but wasn't about to change anything. Well she would change the fate of her parents if she could, effectively becoming a single-parent and an orphan in one day was not what one would consider fun. However sending her sister to foster care was not something she was willing to contemplate. So at 23 she would take on the roll of mother to her 5 year old sister. May the force be with you, she nearly giggled at the thought. Her step-mother, Padme, would say whenever something challenging was about to be faced. Padme's stories of growing up in Alderreen were something out of a sci-fi book, Leggrethra was certain they where made up. Father loved her all the same.
When Leggrethra told Saffron about the accident that had taken Father and Padme a few days ago, she had let out a cry so gut wrenching she had been sure the universe had felt the sadness and grief of it.
