Fire Pulse Ice Breath

The aged pages of the leather bound book turned open slowly. A young girl muttered lowly in the center of the room, her chiffon red sleeve slid down the scales of medium sized dragon.

"Ó, witches agus wizards, is gá dom do chabhair. Tabhair dom mo eolas agus fág dom a bheith." her muttering turned to loud chants as the book slammed shut. She continued her chanting while lightly tapping each spike leading down the dragons back. As her chanting came to a halt, the creature disappeared, its soul appearing as a floating green orb. The girl, Cara, proceeded to dance around the orb with a burning bundle of sage and rose. Cara began to speak in the common tongue of Ellolan.

"Come forth my friend, your transition begins. From this body to the next, your watch begins." Her eyes fluttered open revealing unnaturally tainted blue irises. Her long platinum blonde hair covered part of her pale face. She looked up watching the orb shake before lowering down to the ground bursting into shards. Slowly the pieces assembled into the lengths of a young man. Kneeling down to grasp his face, she placed a small fragment of fluorite on his forehead, before proceeding to her boiling cauldron. The contents of the scalding pot held many unique ingredients found on the crooked shelves near the window. Among some of the few she had used were meant to help bring strength to her friend Jisu. She continued her practices working away the hours waiting for his wake. Her eyes shone as she began to sing the song her mother had sung to her when she was young.

"The maiden wept when she heard him. When he said he'd set her free. He took his axe and used it to bring down her ancient tree 'Now your willow's fallen now you belong to me'

'See me now, a ray of light in the moondance See me now, I cannot leave this place. Hear me now, a strain of song in the forest. Don't ask me, to follow where you lead' She followed him out the forest, and collapsed upon the earth. Her feet had walked but a distance, from the green land of her birth. She faded into a flower, that would bloom for one bright eve. He could not take from the forest, what was never meant to leave." She had never understood the old tale as a child, only now had she realized the teachings it held. She had but witnessed this as a child, her own mother who had been a fae had been taken from her place in the forest. Never was it the same, the once over abundance of life had been drowned in decay and darkness with her absence. This darkness had begun to spread across the lands with the disappearance of many of the creatures who created and protected its life. This is what had given Cara her will to begin her work in the very beginning.

"One day Jisu, all will be at peace once and for all. Just like it had been once long ago." her voice stayed just as strong as her fiery passion.

"Ey Cara give me a hand here I can sense something going on nearby I'd like to go investigate." Jisu stated annoyed.

"Just a moment Jisu I am just finishing up your tea, wouldn't you like something to eat before you head out?" Cara smiled warmly. She knew her friend would rather go out and start something with one of the villagers.

Cara grunted as the man shook his head, yes.

"Cara what are you making me?" She looked up from the pot of warm tea she held.

"Amaranth and blackberry tea with a few of my own spices." She looked back down and poured some of the contents into a cup and handed it to Jisu. "Now, before you go, Jisu, make sure to take your knives and sword. And do be careful. Don't be careless in your actions." Jisu rolled his eyes at Cara.

"Cara I'm not a bloody idiot, but... I will." She looked up at Jisu with a sceptical look.

"You so sure about that now, Jisu. I've seen what you do when you go out and about, and it's not of exampilary action." Cara laughed at her own comment.
