Cyra is sparing her trainer, Captain Ezekiel. Though she just calls him Captain. This time, they're using something simple for a warm-up, swords. Capitan swings at Cyra's legs, she jumps but not high enough so she falls. Captain stabs the ground, aligning with Cyra's heart.

"Dead."

"Well, it was worth a shot."

Captain extends his hand for Cyra to grab. She grabs it and he pulls her up.

"We can work on that another time, it was clever though."

"I wanted to try something new for once."

Captain puts his sword on the weapon rack and Cyra's sword turns back into a staff. Her staff can turn into anything she wants, with a few limitations. It was given to her by her father.

"So, are we doing something new?"

"Yes we are." Captain grabs a greatsword.

"Greatswords?"

"Mmhm."

Cyra's staff is black so it turns into a black greatsword. She stumbles because of the weight, granted, she's holding it with one hand.

"Yeah, you need to hold it with two hands."

"Yup, forgot about that part." Cyra holds it with two hands.

Captain silently chuckles. Captain and Cyra practice and few trial and error swings and spar a few times. Just like that, training was over. The greatsword isn't one of her favorite weapons. Cyra walks through town to go to her house, in the distance she hears her name.

"Cyra!" It was Kiara, Cyra's best friend.

"Hey Kiara."

"How was training?"

"Good, we worked on greatswords today."

"How'd that go?"

"Eh, not one of my favorite weapons."

"Did you fall and he had to catch you?"

"No, but I did stumble and he chuckled."

"OH MY GOODNESS, IT'S CONFIRMED!"

"What?"

"He loves you!"

"He does not, you're reading too much into it. And besides, he probably chuckled because I did a dumb thing."

"And he found it adorable!"

"No, because I forgot to hold a greatsword with two hands, anyone would've laughed at that."

"Then why did he chuckle?"

"He didn't want to add to my humiliation."

"Ugh! You've got a reason for everything!"

"It's called truth."

"Oh whatever."

"Well, I'll see you later Kiara."

"Bye!"

Cyra goes to her house.

Meanwhile, Captain is in the guard tower.

"Well well well."

Captain looks back and sees the General for all the guards in Tirla.

"Come to check on me General?"

"Not officially no."

"I thought you would have some important work to do with the Emperor."

"No, it's been a quiet day. How's the training that star pupil of yours coming along?"

"Uh, we've moved on to two-handed weapons now."

"Did you find that something in her that you were looking for?"

"Not really, I think it's just her sheer determination that I was looking for."

"Do have an idea of what you were looking for, I know you didn't when you first met her."

"Heh, the days go by fast, don't they?"

"6 months, wasn't it?"

"Yeah."

"Well?"

"I sensed a presence within her, it's still there actually."

"Is this your magic sense talking?"

"Kinda, sometimes I can't tell whether it's the magic or not, it just seems natural so I think everyone can feel it. So I just don't mention anything."

"Well, maybe if you practiced with your magic more, then you could decipher that much better."

"I do, just not as much as I should've."

A guard came up the stairs.

"I've come to relieve you sir."

Captain nods, salutes to the general and heads downstairs. Finally, he can be Ezekiel for at least a few minutes. He goes to the forest.
