The polished floor squeaks as shoes slide across it. 10 boys run foward and back to keep up with the ball. As the gym doors open, not a single one of them turns to face it. A girl with orange and blonde hair walks over and sits on the bleachers. All the kids ran to and fro in front of her. She moved around the bleachers looking for the best angle to take a photo. Whuen the bell rang, she walked toward the door on the other side.  One of the boys through the ball backward leaving her to be the only one that could catch it. As the ball sat in her hands, she turned around and through the ball into the hoop over her head. This girls name was Avalon.

On the other side of the door was her best friend, Ari. Her and Avalon had both signed up for yearbook. She was looking down at a drawn on watch. "Your 3 seconds late." said Ari with a smirk on her face. Avalon rolled her eyes and walked with Ari toward the pick up area. They both pilled up their stuff and laid on them as if they were bean bags. Both Avalon and Ari met eyes with 9 young men walking to their cars."What did you do this time Avalon?"Ari scolded. "I Just showed them a little trick I knew... Nothing special... " "I thought you didn't want anyone to see " teased Ari. The gym doors opened again as someone pushed The last player From The gym out. He had a 'piss off' look on his face. "Hey sis... " He mumbled under his breath. Avalon and Ari didnt ask. The already saw this coming when he first walked into the gym, plus, they knew they would here it later anyways.

In the car, Avalons brother passed Avalon a piece of paper and Avalon took out a pen and signed. Usual. Ari nearly shouted "what did you do this time?! " Avalon's mom glared at them from the front seat. "It was because of Avalon"  He replied, trying not to sound guilty. " The ball hit coach after Avalon threw it! And I was the one behind you! He thought it was me!! " "The coach wouldn't believe it was me. I've never even played!" Avalon looked down at her phone. Ari copied. Aaron looked out the window. "I'll get you back. " He whispered under his breath. "Tommorow. "

The next day had started the same. Avalon Got ready, nagged Aaron, left to school with Ariacco, and finished school heading to the gym for yearbook. When Avalon walked in,  she got looks from everyone but her brother. Once she sat down, Aaron appeared in front of her. He looked ,not mad but... Pouty.  "Ave" he sounded so... Serious. "Your in. " he threw the ball at her hands and pushed her to take her place. Everyone moved toward the center of the court. When the ball went up it fell into Avalon's hands. Without thinking, she immediately ran forward, dribbling the ball, and tossed it in the basket at the three pointer line. As the game continued, Avalon got better. The game ended 3-10. Avalon hardly felt bad though. When she walked out of the gym doors, Ari suspiciously questioned her appearance. "Is yearbook that stressful for you? You look like you sweat your blood out or something." She eyeballed her head "And why is your hair in a ponytail?" Avalon felt too embarrassed to speak of it. ''I hate Aaron sometimes." She told Ari. "Especially on days like today. He always acts more confident and nice all day since Jade is coming over. I hate his girlfriend too. Sometimes I wish he was gay. Jade just walks around my house and acts like she owns the place." Ari rolled her eyes. Thye walked toward pick up and Avalin told herself that it would only be how it was today since Jade only comes on once a week.

The day after, the same thing happened at gym... And the next. And all days after that. He forced Avalon to play... Though, she kind of enjoyed it. Of course, nothing ever stays the same. All the guys in the team were...  Very... In to Avalon. Ari brought it up way to much. "Why!!!?? " she'd scream in her ear. And the answer was always the same. "I just...  Don't like guys in general. They remind me to much of myself." On Friday Avalon stayed the night at Ari's. Half the time she screamed about boys and other retarded nonsense  and the other half they told story's or played retard games... Fun stuff. For weeks after I started playing games with the boys, Ari acted weirder. She always asked for every detail of my day and for it all to be true. But to be honest I kinda liked it too. It was like she was concerned about me being alone with 8 giant men in a place with multiple spots to hide a body.

It was even more unfair because of age difference. Avalon was 15 while everyone else was 17. Every day she went to a game she tried to remember someones name. Carlos, Andre, Michael, David, Teal, Tony, Marcus, Brian, and Anthony. On the fifteenth day of me playing with the boys during yearbook, the principal walked in as Avalon started in a game. His hair was a bright blond and was cut in almost a toupee form. He walked into the game making everyone freeze. Avalon was told to talk with him outside. As they walked towards the doors, the boys headed to the bleachers to take a break. "Did I do something wrong..?" Avalon trued not to stutter. "In a way. " The principal replied calmly. "Everyone on the team has told me how you play when you should be doing yearbook. "Avalon drowned herself in guilt. "That's why the team has decided to give you this. " A small amount of clothing sat in his hands. They had the same color as all the other boys and the player number of my brothers jersey." You have a week to decide. "

Avalon held back expression for the rest of the weekend until her and Ari went to Ari's house for the day on Sunday. Everything came out in a small explosion not nearly as dramatic as most people that would ever be in that situation. Avalon had the same look as when she left except tears were rolling down her face. "I hate emotions. " Avalon said looking at the floor. "Why so many then? " Ari tried to sound funny. "Too much. Not enough time. " "You have plenty time. Now explain. " Avalon laided her head on the foot of her bed. "I can't play if I can cheat....  Every time I try to throw it in it will make it, Because that's what I see happening. It was fine just to play but, if I do it in a real game I could never look at myself the same way. " Avalon hated venting. "Then look different. "Ari told her. "Take everything you don't like and change it. Everything you wish you could have... You should take it. " "I Wish?" Avalon started to stutter and hide her face in her hair. I-I w-wi- sh-" Avalon stoped mid sentence. She couldn't say it." Well whatever you wish.. Make it true. "
