Love

She looked at the boy who was sitting across from her in the booth that they were sitting at with a look of adoration.

Tonight was their first date as a couple; before that, they had been lifelong friends that did everything together.

They had always loved each other, but always at different times.

Not this time though.

This time they both got it right.

She kept looking at him as he talked about the newest episode of Supernatural.

It was his favorite tv show.

She never watched the show herself, but she continued to listen to him as if she knew exactly what part of the episode he was describing.

She didn't want him to stop talking; he just looked so adorable, all excited like he was.

He finally stopped talking once he saw the way she was looking at him.

He didn't realize that she was just looking at him, he had just been rambling on about the show.

He finally took a good look at her and he realized why he had fallen in love with her in the first place.

She was radiant in his eyes.

She herself though thought she was nothing compared to most girls.

She wasn't the prettiest or the smartest or the skinniest; she was just average, maybe even a little lower than that.

To him though, she was perfect.

He saw her flaws, he wasn't blind to them.

He himself had flaws too.

She had her bad days where she wanted nothing to with him or anybody for that matter.

She had days where she was as bright as the sun and wanted to be with him every second.

He loved her through every little up and down, through every good and bad mood.

He loved her, God he loved her.

She was finally his.

She noticed that he had stopped talking and was just looking at her now.

They were having the stare down of the century.

Both their eyes never leaving the others face.

She loved him; she could feel it in every ounce of her body.

She was in love.

He was finally hers.

The waitress had walked to their booth and was about to ask them for their order when she noticed the way they were looking at one another.

She had married for over 30 years now to her love.

They met each other at the very diner that she worked at now.

They sat in that same booth that the young couple was sitting in now.

She had fallen in love with him there.

She remembered what it felt like to be so in love that it felt like it was only the two of you there

She didn't want to ruin the young couple's special moment.

She quietly backed away from the booth and let them be.

It was already closing time, well it was past closing time, but she would stay later.

She saw how caught up they were in each other.

They were in love.

She smiled softly at the two as she thought about her and her husband at that age.

She finally had to close up the diner.

The young couple smiled at her as they left; both hand in hand as they walked out.

As they walked away they talked about all their past memories.

They talked about their future.

They even talked about what it would be like if they had gotten together sooner.

Finally, while they were standing in front of her door, he whispered softly three words that she had been dying to here.

"I love you."

Much to his surprise, she whispered them back to him with so much passion.

He kissed her gently; how he wished he could stay.

He didn't realize she was thinking the same thing.

They were so in love and Lord how they wished this feeling would never leave them.

He finally had to leave; he told her again those three words.

He watched her face light up like a child's would on Christmas morning.

That look was etched in his mind even until they were older.

He always loved her and would never stop.

She to loved him also.

And they never stopped.
