Deep blue Ocean

Light orange Sky

The sun sets

Many illusions for ones eye

Jack dug his toes into the Sand

Wishing to Never leave this Land

the horizon was a Golden Glow

as far as his eyes could know.

He sat back in his chair

deep breaths of Life filled the air.

Expressing his freedom

     His life

          The Ocean

               this is where

         Jack was relaxed

    Free, calm, and Never

Numb.

Five birds fly in a symmetrical pattern

between three perfectly placed palm trees

over Jacks head they soar.

Looking up into the bright sky

the pain of the Suns light on his eyes

brought piercing joy to Jacks heart.

One wave builds over the horizon creeping closer, & Closer

then Breaks,

This is where he

Escapes,

This is where he’s

Replaced.

“I am Jack Rio and this is my hell.”

“Attention Citizens your time has lapsed,

awake we hope you are relaxed.

                Please remove your virtual Glasses

        and return to the lobby.

We hope that was a pleasant Escape provided for your body.”

Jack sat up

removed his glasses

to see the true reality.

The Deep blue

became a dark gray hue.

The light orange sky fades

to reveal a broken skyline of

empty buildings above cracked streets

which now jacks toes did meet.

“Jack were did your escape take place?

                Old New York or perhaps

a forest with trees of green,

truly a sight to be seen.”

Jack turns to his friend

“The Ocean,

The water you know my place

I can still feel the sun against my face.”

“Every time it is the same Jack,

why don’t you try another time, location, or Space.

        So many options

                So many Escapes!

However, every time you choose the same redundant Place?”

“I can’t Explain,

        Plan,

        Demand,

or even Understand.

Why it puts a smile on my face,

so many vivid colors for my eyes to trace.

I leave this terrible enclosed decrepit place and become lost,

                                                                                                  at any cost.”

“Get to work Mr. Jack Rio,

                You need more Credits

                        To fund,

                your next Ocean run!”

“Very much so,

        you are right Harrison

                I must go.”

Jack left with a smile

Still knowing his next Escape

will be awhile
