・ Scarlet's POV ・
"Let's get this straight. So you're saying i can attend to community college then after two years I can transfer to a uni?"
I began pacing around my bedroom while my step mother watches me then turns back to her magazine. Slowly nodding in response to the administration offices over the phone.
"Well, I'll be able to go to the orientation on Wednesday with the others students. Yes I'll bring my transcripts...okay thank you very much!" Softly sighing then glance back at my step mother.
"Quite shocked that they still manage to squeeze you in since you applied pretty late." She stretches her legs then grips onto the bed handle lifting herself up right.
"I'm shocked myself but hey let's just appreciate they accepted me before orientation was full." I smiled then turned towards my black dresser skimming through photos of friends i grown up with.
Jeez.. I'm really am going into college.. no more high school drama.. Oh thank lord no more classes of Ms.Gilbert! What a senior year...
"Earth to Scarlet?" My step mother softly shaking me to get me out of my trance. "Get your things ready for your orientation. We'll leave earlier that day so we don't get much traffic in the highway." I nod and plopped in my bed as she closes the door.
For now I can prepare for my graduation tomorrow and then my orientation, where a new chapter begins.
Slowly dazing off, my phone chimes. 'Scarlet, I hear we're going to the same college. Let me take you out for a drink and maybe a late night sesh if you know what i mean.'
' Stop trying to get in my pants Cole. I told you that night was a mistake and nothing else. Leave me alone.'
What a prick. He can't leave me alone after one night of sleeping with him, ugh.
Graduation day has finally came. A day where I say my speech and finally hold my diploma after years of school, then onto college.
It was 3 hours before the ceremony begins. My hair in big rolls while my makeup is set by a makeup artist. " I'm almost done, just need some glitter. You didn't need much makeup since you already have great brows, olive eyes, and beautiful freckles! Don't worry i covered your scar on your cheek."
"Thank you so much Diana. Sorry for such a short notice." I close my eyes as she packs gold glitter onto my lid. After she was done, I stood in front of a mirror wearing a black lacy dress that hugged my curves. I reach over on my chair and slip on my blue graduation gown over to complete the look.
"You look stunning Scarlet!" Raven and Brizzie scream from across the parking lot of where the ceremony is taking place.
"Thanks, but we should go find our assigned seats. It should start in about an hour." As time passed, the seats from the bleachers slowly get noisy with families of my classmates. The music began as everyone quiets down.
Hearing each student that I know called up and grabbing their diplomas. "Scarlet Evergreen" I step up from my seat as my friends and family cheer my name. I flash a smile and skim over to my principle, senior teachers, and councils of the school districts. I stare at my friends and family as I grab my diploma and shake my principle's hand.
I gave my speech and the whole ceremony ended perfectly. Once it ended, my family left home but i joined my friends to an after graduation party.
Loud pop music was playing as we walked through the large wooden doors. The house was owned by one of the ASB member, Calvin. Balloons and empty red solo cups were everywhere as people lounged on couches and others leaned against walls.
"There's people from different schools that graduated today." Raven smirking at both Brizzie and I.
As time passed, my friends ended going their own ways but I just stood at the back until a feeling of someone was watching me.
"Excuse me." Hearing a deep raspy voice came from behind then a soft cough to get my attention. Once i turned around the first thing i noticed was a curl that stuck out but the rest was slicked back.
"Oh hey" My heart began to ache, not noticing my fingers began fidgeting while glancing around to see if any of my friends were around.
"I noticed you from the kitchen. Thought i can shoot my shot." He softly chuckles then flashes a cunning smile. "My name is Ian." He raises an eyebrow as if he's waiting for a response.
"Oh, I'm Scarlet." My core began to tighten as he stared down at me, then i spot Raven across the room.
"Are you okay?" His voice softened as he grips onto my waist to hold me up properly.
"I'm perfectly fine!" Feeling my knees weakening as he tightens his grip, pulling my body towards him.
"Your face is a bit pale and you're shaking a bit. Do you need to sit down?" His voice deepened, sending chills down my spine.
"I think my friends are calling me." I loosen his grip from my waist and stumble towards Raven. Her face lit up and smiles when she notices my expression then looks over to Ian.
"Why did you ditch that guy over there?" Nudging my arm as i look the other way. "Cmon, he doesn't even know you and most likely won't even meet him again. Loosen up!"
She turns me around to face him, our eyes met but he was upset. He turned around and walked away.
We ended up leaving around midnight since Brizzie ended up passing out on the bathroom floor after trying to play beer pong with a couple of football players. She always seems the type to be 'the life of the party.'
Raven was basically the mom of the group, always looking after both of us and always had our backs when it comes to anything. We were always together but maybe it might change once we enter college.
Raven dropped me off home first so she can help out Brizzie in her house. I changed out of my dress sighing in relief. I plopped onto my bed looking at the ceiling and dozed off.
Morning of orientation was such a rush but ended up being 5 minutes early.
"Oh, hey there Scarlet." I hear a familiar voice call me from the crowd.
Oh this is embarrassing...
I hoped you enjoyed the chapter. Please don't forget to leave a comment and vote! 💖 Wonder who she ran into during her orientation?
