- prologue -

I woke up earlier than usual and I was sure glad I did. Early in the morning, everything in my neighborhood was peaceful other than my friends causing chaos in the streets and especially in my home. In my hand was a fresh cup of coffee and I breathed in the breezy air and took a sip of my coffee. The sound of silence surrounding me didn't last as I heard a loud bark coming from my backyard and there I saw my dog, Celeste. She was playing in the garden with a squirrel trying to run and carrying nuts like its life depended on it, and it actually does. I picked up Celeste, her barking loudly at the squirrel as it runs to its own home.

"I told you Celeste, don't chase squirrels." I told her with a stern look, but you know, I can't stay mad at her and gave her a snack. She ran off with her tongue hanging off the side of her open mouth and entered the house, doing who knows what. As I took more sips of my coffee, I grabbed a book from my living room and sat down under a tree; giving me just enough shade to allow me to read my book.

Several minutes has passed and I was sure that Katelyn and Kawaii'Chan were up by now which gave me a thought to make them some breakfast. I held onto my book as I stood up and briskly walked to the door that would lead me to the kitchen, but as I took another step, my foot made contact with something solid and nearly made me drop to the ground. "I was sure there weren't any rocks there earlier." I muttered to myself. I regained my balance and soon, my eyes drifted to a shining rock and as my eyes adjusted to it's glow - I soon realized it was a precious gemstone. I stared at it, unable to feel the right emotions. I felt like I wasn't in my own body, but as if my soul was being attracted to the stone. My body started to feel emotionless, I dropped to the ground - landing on my knees.

And right before I was about to be fully sucked in, Celeste's barks took me out of the trance. I immediately engulfed her in a hug as a thank you for saving my life, I stood up and turned to walk away but the feeling of connecting with the stone was still inside me and right now it was telling me to take it and I soon obeyed and took the stone on my hands and kept it deep inside my wooden bedside table. I heaved a sigh and dropped to my soft, fluffy bed and stared at the ceiling. Completely exhausted because of the occurrence earlier. My eyes started to droop and the only things left on my mind were thoughts about the stone.

To my dismay, my sleep didn't last long since my ears kept ringing because of Katelyn and Kawaii'Chan's loud voices coming from the living room downstairs. I groaned and rolled over my bed, using the pillow to block off the voices - hoping for my sleep to continue but to my unfortunate luck, it didn't and I had to go downstairs to settle the dispute between the two. From the platform connecting the first and second flight of the stairs, I saw Katelyn holding burnt papers and I could see its ashes falling off as she continues to flail her arms around. Kawaii'Chan in the other hand held a tray that were filled with burnt balls, it looked like cookie dough.

"What's going on?" I asked, concerned at my two friends' argument. Katelyn was the first one to speak, with an angered and slightly hoarse voice from all the yelling, she said, "I have every right to yell at her, she burnt my script that was needed for theatre class!" and I looked at Kawaii'Chan whom was crossing her arms and glaring at Katelyn, "Kawaii'Chan was baking cookies and Kawaii'Chan asked Katelyn'Sama to watch after the cookies when it was baking in the oven but Katelyn'Sama didn't and burnt them!" And they went right back to arguing. As they were too busy arguing, I grabbed the tray and papers from there hands. That was enough to capture their attention. Now there eyes were on me. "Come on, instead of wasting time arguing, you should have used it to redo your work. I don't think it will be that hard, and this time, don't burn eachother's scripts and cookies." Then I gave them a warm smile to which they gladly returned back. The day proceeded like any normal day and this afternoon, I used the time to take a nap on the living room couch.

But to my dismay once again, a loud thump woke me up from my nap. I rubbed the sleep off of my eyes and slowly walked upstairs to my bedroom. I guess that's where the noise came from. Whatever caused it, I just hope it will stop since I'm too tired and sleepy to take on whatever's causing the noise. As I opened my bedroom door, I was greeted with nothing but just my empty room. Celeste was at the corner, sleeping on her own bed. I was jealous of her having a good sleep.

Feeling my body going limp and tired once again, I dropped to my bed and closed my eyes. Then, I felt my body moving. It felt as if I was being lifted into the air and when I opened my eyes, I was right and saw myself engulfed in a bright, blue, forcefield lifting me up into the air. Celeste barked at the strange phenomena and in a matter of seconds, the sphere enclosed and I found myself in a vortex.

Meanwhile...

"Hey, Aphmau! I need to ask a favor!" Katelyn called from her room. She didn't hear any replies. She walked to her room and knocked on her door - only revealing it to be empty.

"Aphmau?..."
