"Harry! Have you got everything?" Hermione shouted out whilst running into the Gryffindor common room.

"Yes 'Mione." Harry grumbled.

"You remember the spell don't you Harry? Should we try one more time?!"

"No. Please no. You kept me up all night to practice, the spell is practically glued to the back of my head." Harry mumbled. He let out a loud yawn and ran his hand through his messy hair. Immediately Hermione's eyes widened. Harry gave her a questioning look.

"Harry! Are you sleepy? You won't fall of the broom right? You won't hurt yourself right? What would I do if..." Hermione covered her face with her hands and gently swayed side to side, something she always did when she was bored or nervous. Harry got up from the sofa and placed his hands on Hermione's shoulder.

"Hermione, your more nervous than me. I've got my broomstick and that's all I need. You've seen me on my broomstick before, don't worry, I'll make it out." After a slight pause, "Alive." He whispered.

Hermione wasn't convinced because it was clear by the tone of his voice that he was trying to convince himself just as much as he wanted to convince her.

There was an awkward silence between them as Hermione lifted her head up to meet his eyes. Neither of them knew what was going on between them or if there was anything going on between them at all. Some of the girls would tease Hermione on this particular subject, but she would just ignore them. Hermione wasn't so sure herself if there was anything going on between them. But one thing she knew was that Harry and Ron would always be the brothers she never really had.

Hermione had the sudden urge to hug Harry. After all, it might be the last morning they have together. But she just stepped back and smiled at Harry.

"I know you'll do just fine Harry. I was just worried. Its what friends do."

Harry grinned at her, "Well, I guess sometimes it isn't a very good thing to have friends after all."

Hermione punched him playfully on the arm and Harry gave her a corresponding chuckle.

"Well, we've got to go eat breakfast now... We'd better hurry up because the champions have to leave early." Hermione said and started walking out, followed by Harry.

"How is it that you know everything?" Harry mumbled.

"Well I for one actually listen to Dumbledore's speeches and I can't possibly know everything, Harry."

"Ya, think?!"

Harry paced up and down the large tent. All the champions were there.

It's alright Harry... He told himself. All you have to do is face that horntail and get the golden egg. And you've also got Firebolt to help you. Just remember the spell and You'll do fine... You'll do fine... You'll do-

Suddenly loud cheering came from outside. Slowly the cheering died down. All the champions shared mournful looks.

Harry was about to start one of his pep talk again when he heard ruffling from somewhere behind him.

"Pssssssstt." A familiar voice said from outside the tent. Harry didn't move.

"Psssssssssssssssssssssssst." The voice was louder this time and Harry knew who it was.

He pressed his ear against the fabric and whispered, "Hermione?"

"H-Harry I was hoping it was you..." Hermione stuttered.

"What are you doing here?!"

"Wishing you good luck."

"Haven't you done that already?"

"Well- "

"More like a 100 times already?"

"Harry... I... Uhh... How are you feeling?" Hermione sighed.

"Absolutely spectacular, thanks."

"Well I just wanted to..."

"Wanted to wha- "Hermione sprang out from behind the curtains and fell into Harry's arm. She hugged him tightly and didn't let go until there was a bright white light and a loud clicking sound. They immediately pulled apart and Hermione blushed. Just the person she needed. Rita Skeeter.

"Ah, young love. Such a deliciously tempting subject." Rita Skeeter cooed. Harry gritted his teeth.

"Well where should we begi- "

"Very well champions! It is time." Dumbledore walked into the tent interrupting Rita Skeeter. Behind him was none other than Barty Crouch, the head of the Ministry of Magic. "Uh," Dumbledore looked at Rita Skeeter, "What are you..." But before he could finish Rita Skeeter gave a soft huff and strutted out.

"Now we shall tell you what is your first task." Dumbledore looked from each champion to the other eyeing them carefully. When he reached Harry's eyes he stared at him sternly before moving on to Hermione.

"Ms. Granger? What are you doing here?"

"I- uhh well Professor I was just leaving..." And she gave Harry one last hopeful look before running out.

Barty Crouch cleared his throat, "Today, you will be facing dragons. Your task is to get the golden egg which the dragon will be guarding." All the champions shared nervous glances. Barty Crouch took out a small, black bag from his pocket. "And this, champions is how you will find out which dragon you shall be facing."

He brought the bag to Fleur who stared at it with wide eyes. She slowly put her hand in and pulled out a small, green Dragon. She looked up at Barty Crouch.

"Ooh! The Welsh Green." Barty murmured. Next he moved on to Viktor Krum.

"The Chinese Fireball!" Next he walked to Cedric. "The Swedish Short snout!" Next he walked to Harry.

"Which leaves..."

"The Hungarian Horntail." Harry murmured.

"What did you say boy?"

"Oh uhh, nothing, sir." Harry shook his head. He already knew they were facing dragons since Hagrid had told him a few nights ago. But he couldn't tell Barty that. He slowly put his hand into the bag and pulled out a small, black dragon. Harry looked up at Dumbledore who was staring back at him in disbelief.

"The Hungarian Horntail..." Barty said slowly. "Good luck with that." And with that he left the tent followed by Dumbledore who was rubbing at his temples slowly.

"Just my luck." Harry sighed.
