Hanging by a thread

part one

I laid on my roof puffing on my cigarette. I sat up seeing a moving truck stopping at the house beside mine. I finished smoking and slid down to my window, climbing in.

I changed into some fish nets and a Escape the Fate t-shirt. I pulled on some black ripped shorts. I put on my vans and ran outside. Before father could yell at me. I went to the sidewalk while some young men grabbed boxes.

One noticed me and yelled hey. "Hi." I blushed, everyone turned to look at me. "I'm your neighbor." I said looking down. I still haven't gotten a good look at them.

Soon all of them were walking towards me. I finally looked up. "Oh shit!" I nearly yelled. They looked at me confused. "Your bring me the horizon." They all laughed.

"That is us." Matt said. I felt like dying. "Jewel!" My dad yelled. I groaned. I waved bye and ran inside. He slammed the door. "Who were they!" He yelled throwing his beer across the room. "Your a whore like your mother." I stood quiet knowing if I speak, things will get worse.

"Answer me!" He slapped my face, I teared up and held my cheek. I stood there crying. He pulled my hair and slammed me to the ground.

He soon got bored and went away. I ran to my room crying. I grabbed my cigarettes and went to the roof.

I sat there smoking and crying. Soon passing out from exhaustion.

~Hours later~

I woke up my eyes puffy. I felt the dried tears on my face. I checked my phone 2am. "Bloody hell." I laid back down.

"Hey." I sat up looking around on the roof next door was Lee. I waved and wiped my face. "Meet me down there." I nodded and climbed into my room.

I wiped my face and did my makeup. I changed into my bmth hoodie and some ripped skinny jeans, with some converse.

I sneaked downstairs and went out the door. I ran to the sidewalk and met Lee. "Nice hoodie." He smirked. I blushed and put my hands in my pocket.

"Follow me." Lee said. We went into the woods. "I lived around here when I was a teenager." I nodded. "I been here my whole life."

"Wait are you that girl, that wasn't allowed outside and was always on the roof?" I blushed. "That was me."

We soon started talking about life. Lee is 4 years older then me. "Do you promise not to freak out." Lee said randomly. "Depends."

"I know the truth." I stopped. "About your dad." He shook the words out. "I wanted to help so badly but I couldn't." I started crying.

"Does he still do it?" I nodded yes and collasped in Lee's chest. "You know the truth, and you probably don't like me now." I said still hugging him. He didn't respond.

"I like you more because you are strong." We just hugged until the Sun came up. "I need to go before my dad wakes up." We walked to our houses.

I waved bye and opened the door, running up stairs. I took my shoes off and collapsed on my bed.

All day I drew or daydreamed. Soon it was dark and there was a knock on my window. I opened my window seeing Lee climbing in.

"What are you doing?" I whispered. "Coming to visit." I sighed and we moved to my bed. I closed my drawing book. "What's this?"

"My drawing book." Lee grabbed it and looked threw it. "This is amazing." He said flipping threw the pages. I blushed and put my hair up.

"I make look like a troll so beware." I took my makeup off and turned around. Lee jumped up and hugged me.

"What is it?" I asked. Lee turned me around bruises all over my face. I gasped and looked away. "Please leave him." Lee said. "I can't I'm only 17."

"When is your birthday?" Lee asked. "In 4 months." I sighed, that seemed so far away. "In 4 months, let's get a apartment together."

I sighed only imagining. "Hey this may sound weird but arent you the boy that held signs to me at your window and I wrote back to?"

"That was me." Lee laughed. "Glad your back sign buddy." I laughed. "How is your mother?" Lee asked. I gulped. "Oh sorry I forgot." I nodded.

Soon after we laid down on my bed Lee's head on my chest while I played with his hair. We watched movies until we both passed out. Not caring about the world.
