Words ran across the page of Dostoevsky's "Crime And Punishment" as I read it late one Monday night. I sat and pondered life, my thoughts only jarred when my girlfriend called me suddenly on my phone.
I answered and we talked for at least an hour so. In the past, I'd used the term 'Hollow' from the anime, Bleach, to refer to self-doubt, depression, anxiety, blood lust in battle, and general other problems I faced in my day-to-day life. (I mention it here because this will become important later.)
She finally asked me a question I didn't expect:
"How would you describe your mind?"
She'd asked me this question before and I'd never known how to answer it. This time though, I turned my mind's eye inward upon itself, looking as deeply as I could into the whole of what made up my being, and finally, I came up with an answer:
