The first thing I noticed was my head pounding like a drum in immense pain. A small groan escaped me and my eyes fluttered open. The room i currently inhabited was dark but somehow I could still see everything perfectly. Voices floated to me through an open door and I remained quiet just in case their intentions weren't exactly nice. My ears strained to hear and when I thought about turning up the volume on them, I could hear the voices better. "Well isn't that fancy?" I mumbled to myself as quietly as I could manage with my sore throat. The hunger I had felt earlier, in that forest, was starting to crawl back to me and I could feel my entire body cry out for blood. "Never." I whispered to myself. I heard foosteps approaching the door and I quickly shut my eyes, feining to be asleep.

"I say we sacrifice her to the prince. She has no buisness here and besides, she's a filthy New Blood. I don't want to be seen hanging around with her." A male voice said, clearly in the same room as me.

"We are not sacrificing her! Do you ever think about anything but yourself?" This time it was a woman's voice, and she sounded annoyed with the male.

"Well, we'll just see what Hunter has to say about that, now won't we?" The male voice retorted. I lay there, dazed and confused. There was no way I was going to figure out where I was without opening my eyes, but I didn't want to because then they would figure out I was awake. Too late.

"Hang on a second." The female said. There was a long silence then an exhale of breath.

"Impressive. Nice call Ariella. Hey, you, New Blood! You can open your eyes now." He yelled across the room. I heard a loud thwack and I sighed. One had obviously hit the other. I was debating whether I would just stay there with my eyes closed or get up when I felt someone's warm breath on my face. "Hey chick, get up." The male said again and lightly slapped me. The side of my face began to throb and my expression twisted in pain. My eyelids flew open and I looked up at the guy towering over me with a confused expression on his face.

"What is wrong with you?" I croaked, my voice hoarse and rough because of my throat. He snorted and walked back over to his chair to sit down.

"I'm sorry, forgive Sebstian. he tends to be rude. I'll get you some water." the girl, Ariella I guessed, said then exited the room. My head turned to the side and my eyes glared at the guy named Sebastian. I was going to kill him when I got the chance. Before I could say anything to him though, Ariella walked back into the room with a glass of water and helped me sit up so I could drink it. It soothed my throat for the most part, but my vocals were still a little rough.

"Where the hell am I?" I asked, wanting to figure my options for escape. I glanced between the two people that made up my company but all Sebastian did was smirk and Ariella frowned. I had to admit I was very confused and in a situation such as this, I was really helpless too.

"well.....We have a lot to explain to you. What is your name?" Ariella asked in a sweet tone.

"Solange. My last name of course is of no consequence to you, and seeing as how I'm definately not going anywhere my ears are open to you." I said properly, not wanting to look stupid in front of Sebastion for some...weird reason.....

"Well, Solange, we kind of can't tell you where you are but you're probably a long way from home. Luckily Sebastian, Hunter, and a few others saved you from those horrid guardians, but you've seen too much to go back. If you were to go home now you could never live the same again. You're a vampire-" I cut her off, even though her voice had a strange compulsion that made me want to hear so much more.

"Vampire? You're crazy, there's no such thing as vampires." I shook my head and held up a hand when she began to protest. "If there was wouldn't they be discovered by now? honestly, you need to get your head checked." I began to reason with her. I rambled on and soon found Sebastian looming over me with an angry and slightly annoyed looked upon his face.

"God, you're annoying." He said in a deep voice then bared his fangs at me.

"Umm, did you get those from the dentists office?" I asked, a little too egotistical about myself, thinking I would win.

Sebastian slapped me again, this time a little harder but on the same cheek. My eyes watered from the pain and I cursed at him. He just smirked and the next thing I knew he was kissing Ariella on the neck. I looked at him like he was a lunatic but then a thought crossed my chaotic mind. Could he be biting her? No. I tried to convince myself that he was only kissing her, but then it didn't make sense that him and Ariella would be together, they were nearly polar opposites. I shifted my weight and slid closer so I could get a better look.

What I saw only halfly suprised me. He was, of course, biting her neck and I could see the blood flowing. In fact, a small drop escaped and created a miniscule river down her neck towards her chest. My eyes dared not follow it any further than her collar bone and I swallowed hard. Fine. Vampires were real. I could handle this couldn't I?
