Sarah sighed as she sagged onto the front door of her home.
"Finally..." She breathed as she blew a few errant strands of hair from her face.
Two months. It had been two months since she had last seen the inside of her home and good god was it a sight for sore eyes. There was only so much glitz and glamour of the Award Season she could stand before she longed for the lived-in look of those rustic walls. Everything was exactly how it had been left. From the pile of shoes on the threadbare mat, to the dusty pictures frames that had collected even more dust on the rickety entrance table, to the brushed silver tumbler of coffee that stood abandoned on the same table.
Sarah shuddered at the thought of having to clean it. God, that was going to be miserable. Maybe she could con her wife into cleaning it for her after an expert make out session or two.
She perked up at the thought of her wife. Jessica should have been home too if she remembered right. Though there was nothing to suggest she was, which in and of itself was not that unusual. Most of the time, she was on autopilot to the bedroom after running the press gauntlet for weeks on end.
Sarah, however, couldn't be bothered to bring her luggage with her, so she dropped her bags and made a beeline for her bedroom, stopping twice, once to check the time(1:17 AM. Ugh.), and the other to admire the only wedding portrait that Jessica would allow in the house. She smiled to herself before continuing down the hall. A faint glow spilled out from the crack in the door.
The brunette smiled softly when she opened the door. There was Jessica, glasses still on her nose, though they were awfully crooked. She was curled up with Sarah's pillow and whatever book she was currently reading, which had fallen face down once she had fallen asleep. Clearly she had tried to stay up, hoping to catch her wife before bed.
Slowly and carefully, Sarah took Jessica's glasses and book and placed them on her nightstand. She removed her pillow even more carefully and replaced it with herself. She sighed as she snuggled into her wife's chest, the familiar scent making her even sleepier than what she was. For a moment she thought about getting up and changing, but that thought went as quickly as it came. She'd just have to wait until morning to peel everything off.

"Sarah."
The younger woman groaned. Whoever was talking seriously needed to not.
"Sarah. Wake up."
Yeah, that definitely was not going to happen. Though the voice did sound familiar, she didn't have the will power nor did she really care to decipher it. She grunted and rolled over, bringing the majority of the comforter with her.
"I said wake up!"
Suddenly, Sarah was on the floor. With a very impatient looking Jessica hovering above her, the edge of said comforter in hand.
"What the fuck?" Sarah tried to blink away the sleep from her eyes.
"Get up and make yourself presentable." The older blonde ordered,"We have unexpected guests."
"Guests?" She glanced over at the clock,"For Christ's, Jess. It's four in the fucking morning..."
"I know." Her wife responded, her tone riddled with annoyance.
"Guests?" Sarah repeated as she desperately tried to grasp what was going on.
Jessica nodded, but she offered nothing more as she turned and left the room, she herself looked very thrown together. Well, what else could you expect at four in the morning?
Sarah sighed as she heaved herself up from the floor. On the plus side, she had gone to bed fully dressed, so all she had to do was run a brush through her hair and splash some cold water on her face. That was about as good as it was going to get a far as she was concerned. Grabbing her phone and giving one last longing look to her oh so inviting bed, she turned and left.
