A tiny baby was wailing in the arms of its mother, the mother was stroking the babies head and muttering reassurances to the baby. The mother and father both had dark skin, dark hair, and dark eyes. The baby was quite the opposite, she had skin as white as the snow with soft little tufts of hair to match. She had opened her eyes a few days ago and revealed her eyes were blue as the sky above.
They had just finished doing the blood work and found out she had gold blood, a blessing from the Moon Goddess. It could only be obtained two ways, if you were just born into it, if the Moon Goddess had plans for you or if a tiring complicated ritual was completed and no one had even tried to do it in three thousand years.
"Our baby is a white wolf and has been blessed by the Moon Goddess, we have been given so much and we can give her so little. She has been born to two Omega parents, I wish we could offer her more." The mother said teary eyed.
The father shushed her "We have been saving for awhile and as a white wolf our baby has special powers we don't even know of and has been blessed by the Moon Goddess and will help many."
"Of course, you're right Bennett. I guess I was just being silly." The mother gave a shaky laugh.

A few days later it was the baby's naming ceremony, even when it was just an Omega's child the whole pack would gather around the temple made of marble in the middle of their little village. There would be a speech made by the current Alpha and then the parents would announce the child's full name for the whole pack to hear.
The child wriggled about in her mother's arm as the Alpha made a boring speech about how the race must continue to grow. There was some extra stuff since the child was a white wolf and she was blessed with gold blood. There was a gift from the Alpha as well since the little child was a special one. It was necklace with a bit of rare moonstone in it and it was made of gold.
Rare and beautiful, just like the child.
When the Alpha bent over to put the necklace around the child's neck she giggled and patted the Alpha's cheek and he gave a slight smile as he slipped the chain around her neck. Now it was time for the parents to announce the name. They held up the girl so the rest off the pack could see her and said "Welcome Emiko Gwen-Freda Gold to your pack!" There was a loud cheer and a lot of applause.
The Shadow Pack had gotten its chance to shine, not just for being the most cruel and vicious of all the Wolfblood packs but for one of their members being a rare gemstone that none could obtain simply by mining for it. They had finally gotten their first white wolf. The baby was absolutely giddy with all the attention she was getting, she was clapping her hands and laughing a funny little laugh.

About six years later the child had just been able to start understanding about what she was and why she had such a pretty special necklace and why she was never to lose it or sell it. "Mama, can I go play with the other children?" The child asked.
The mother had grown sick after she had gotten in a fight with a vampire, it had bitten her and the venom from the beast was killing her. She wanted to spend the last few days with her child. "Not today Emiko dear, maybe tomorrow." The mother went into the bedroom the family shared in their tiny little hut.
The next morning while the father was away the child tried to wake up her mother, she lifted an eyelid and the iris and the pupils were gone. The child didn't know what was wrong at first but then it sank in, she screamed. "MAMA'S NOT WAKING UP! HELP ME!"
She ran out of the house and went into the middle of the square, there were a lot of people there and they were all staring at her. The strange little white wolf. "My mama won't wake up and her eyes look funny. I need someone's help." eventually a little boy that was just a little older then the child ran to her.
"Stay right here, I'm going to go get my big brother, he'll be able to help you." So she sat down while she waited for the boy and cried into her hands. He came back with the elder son of the pack's Alpha. He was about sixteen years old which was quite the age gap between his brother and him.
"You're the Alpha's son?" The child asked.
"Yeah I am, you're the white wolf right?" The child nodded. The child led the Alpha's sons to her home and took them into the shared bedroom. Their noses wrinkled in disgust as they surveyed the Omega's quaint home. They couldn't believe any family could live in such a tiny space. The child didn't notice though.
Once they were in the bedroom the elder boy examined the body. "Vampire bite, it's fatal to Wolfblood's. I'm sorry Emiko but your mother is dead, and she won't be coming back."
The child let out an ear shattering scream that a normal Wolfblood couldn't let out. "Tomorrow's my birthday an mama promised she'd take me in the woods with her. We had been planning for weeks!" The child was now sobbing uncontrollably.
"I'll take you to the forest." The younger Alpha's son promised. "Just ask for Warren and someone will bring me to you." The child smiled through her tears and nodded in confirmation. The two Alpha's sons left the house to go get someone that could take the dead body to the morgue.
The child had no friends at the time and so she spent the time memorizing songs and poems. This one that the child sang was the Shadow Pack's funeral song. "The beating heart, the beating heart, the mystic creatures wandered far. Through these veins a wolf's blood flows. A change will come I know. Behold my future. As sure as day returns to night. The passion in my clan, to be at one with them and hidden from the world outside."
She sat quietly by her mother's body holding her hand until the Alpha's sons came back with the man that dragged the dead bodies away. The child and the Alpha's sons were sent outside, the child so she wouldn't try to keep the man from taking the body and the sons of the Alpha so they could entertain her. That was how she became best friends with Warren, one of the sons of Alpha Beowulf.
