Thunder

Aiden's P.O.V.

It's been a few weeks since they had finally let her go back home but I didn't come to visit. Mainly because I had to take care of Samantha. But also because during the first few weeks everyone came to visit her.

I knocked on her door and she opened it. I looked up at her and noticed she wasn't wearing any makeup.

"Um...."she said glancing at me.

"Oh hey, uh it's Aiden from your class. Probably don't remember me but I visited you at the hospital"

"Ohhhh.... your one of the guys I called cute huh? I'm so sorry I don't know why I did that. I guess it was the pills" she giggled. "please come in"

I walked into her house and she grabbed my hand then lead me to the living room. She sat on the floor and I sat beside her.

"So you wanna watch a movie?" she asked and grabbed the remote.

"Uhhh sure what movies do you have?" I asked and she gave me a list but I decided to go with 'My Soul To Take'.

After a while of the movie her dad brought in some drinks and popcorn.

"Thank you Mr.Andrews" I said and he nodded.

Alice leaned onto my shoulder and began to fall asleep. I wasn't sure if it was the fact that it was late at night or that the movie was a bit confusing but she got tired.

"Aiden, are you gonna head home soon?" her dad asked me.

"Well I'll stay as long as you want" I said and he smiled.

"Great. Do you think you can watch her for me tonight? I have to go to my boss's house for a reunion to celebrate our 10,000th sale. But I probably won't be back til tomorrow knowing how his parties are with the alcohol."

"Sure thing sir. Do you mind telling my mom though?" I asked and he nodded. After my mom agreed, knowing that Alice was in the hospital a few weeks ago she allowed me to stay, her dad headed off.

"Alice, movie's over" I whispered budging her shoulder. She woke up and rubbed her eyes then yawned.

" Hmm?" she asked looking over at the screen.

"The movie's over, oh and your dad went to a meeting/celebration thing. He'll be back tomorrow so he asked me to spend the night with you." I said and her eyes widened.

"I need to go shower please stay put" she said causing me to burst into laughter. 'Stay Put'. How quirky.

I put in 'The Ruins' as she showered and dressed. By the time she came back she was in her black AC/DC top and PJ shorts. She sat down next to me and we finished watching the movie.

"Well that was a horrible ending" she said pouting her lips.

"Because their love got destroyed in such a tragic way?" I asked but she shook her head.

"No, because she's the only one that escapes" she said then looked at the couch. "Am I sleeping here?" she asked and I shook my head 'no'.

"You can sleep in your bed" I told her and walked her over there. Then we heard a loud thunder strike and hit the sky. She jumped up at the noise and tugged on my shirt.

"You're scared of the storm?" I asked but she just shrugged.

She crawled into bed and I placed the blanket above her and was about to go downstairs when she said "Stay, please Aiden. I can't sleep alone with the thunder"

Her eyes were getting misty and I knew it wasn't a good idea but I got in bed with her and wrapped her in the blanket then hugged her. I didn't use the blanket because I didn't think it was appropriate much less necessary.

Then we drifted off to sleep.

By the time I woke up the storm had stopped. It was still raining but the thunder was gone along with the wind. I looked down at Alice who had her arms wrapped around my waist. Her head laid on my chest and her legs on top of mine.

I pushed her off of me lightly and looked at my phone it was about 6:30 in the morning.

"Aiden?" she mumbled still a bit drowsy. "Ya?" I asked raising a brow. "Where's my dad?" she responded.

"I dunno" I said and got out of bed. I walked downstairs and saw breakfast on the table.

"Aiden, I came home as early as I could when I heard the thunder getting louder, but when I got here you had already calmed her down" he said serving the pancakes onto the plates.

"I'm very sorry sir, I didn't disrespect her in any way" I said but he began to laugh.

" I know you didn't I would have killed you in your sleep if you did" he said and took out the syrup from a cabinet.

"Dad!!" Alice yelled as she ran over to hug her father.

"Hey there pumpkin!! I made you breakfast, oh Aiden come and eat with us" he said and I took a seat next to Alice.

"So Alice, are you feeling any better?" her father asked her and she smiled in response. "great" he said then continued to eat.

I looked at Alice who seemed really happy. I guess she kind felt happy having three people over for breakfast. I don't know.

After I ate and played with her and her rabbit. I headed home where I hopped into the shower. The cold refreshing water caused me to loose my breathe for a few seconds but then I regained it.
