I open my eyes to see a room swimming in darkness. I can hear a soothing voice talking to me, speaking words that I can't decipher, and recognise it as my father's. As I try to reach out and touch his face, as I had a million times before, I feel a tug at my wrist and realise that I have been chained to the wall. My weak voice chokes out a faint "...daddy?" before the light comes crashing around me, so bright it takes me a moment to make out the dozens of blurry, twisted shapes among me. "It's okay, it's okay".
I gasp as I see the iron bars trapping me inside this strange room, and knowing, as my heart sinks lower and lower in my chest, that I am in the Caecus Prison. My father explains that this is temporary, that they're going to take care of me, going to fix me. He whispers a feeble goodbye, as I am left once again in the darkness, with the countless creatures that love to taunt me for who i am- what I am.
I scream until my throat is raw and my lungs are sore. I scream, and I scream, and I scream...
