Emery was running from her problems with her child who has yet been named. She had never felt this much fear in her life. She was scared for not only herself but also her child. Her hazel eyes were watering from the wind violently slapping her in the face, but she didn't dare stop running. Finally, she arrived at her car. She quickly put her daughter in her car seat and buckled her in. Then she hopped in the driver seat and quickly started the car and drove off. While driving, her mind was racing with thoughts of how she wound up in the situation. Her father was the main reason for this. If he wouldn't have brought that cruel man into her life, then she might be happy and not be running for her life.
Before she could get too far into her thoughts, she arrived at her destination. She had driven to her father's safe house. She quickly got out of the car and grabbed her daughter. She entered the safe house and went to one of the bedrooms, after locking the door that she came through. She put her daughter on the bed and put pillows around her so that she wouldn't roll off. She then left the room and went up to the tech room. She found where all the footage was stored and deleted all of the camera footage of her arriving. She didn't want her father, Richard Spencer, to tell her husband where she was. She went back to her daughter and made sure that she was okay. She finally sent a text message to her husband saying that he would never see her or their child ever again. She knew that this would make him very angry and was terrified of if he ever finds her.
Four years earlier, she was a normal girl. Well as normal as a rich girl could get. She had everything that she ever wanted. She was a twenty-year-old, who had big dreams. She looked at life with so much enthusiasm and was constantly on an adventure, whether it was traveling the world or just simple everyday tasks. She somehow made everything seem better than it was. It was her positive outlook on life that everyone adored her for. She had her best friends and a perfect brother that she loved dearly. She never thought that anything could go wrong in her life until one day one of her best friends left her. After that, her life was a downward spiral.
A few months after her best friend left her, her brother had passed away. It was such a tragic accident that she could never get out of her mind, no matter how hard she tried. She wishes that she could change the past and erase everything that went wrong that night, but she couldn't.
Her brother, Joshua Spencer, had died in a car wreck at the age of twenty-three. She was in the car with him when it had happened. She was in critical condition, but he died on impact. She still remembers the day like it had just happened and she knew that it was her fault that he was dead. She has never forgiven herself, nor will she ever. She misses him. Her big brother who meant everything to her was gone and was never coming back. If it hadn't been her fault, then she might be able to cope with it. She had wanted to become popular at her college and because of that reason, her brother is dead.
Her father always wanted what was best for her, even after that incident. He tried so hard to convince her that she needs to stop traveling the world and spending most of her time with random boys. He finally had enough when she started to date his competition's son, so he went to his best friend's house. When he arrived, he had greeted his friend with a big smile and a formal handshake before putting on a serious face. His friend, Alverez Jurado, had noticed and dropped his smile also. Alverez led Richard to his office and they both took a seat. Richard being in one of the two chairs across from Alverez.
Richard contemplated bringing up his outrageous proposition. After a short while, Richard finally told Alverez. Alverez was stunned at first but then thought it was a great solution for both of their problems. Richard's problem is of his daughter spiraling out of control and his being that his business is far to small for his liking. Alverez agreeing to the proposition had Richard very relieved, so he told his friend that he was going to go discuss it with Alverez's son and would tell him how the discussion goes. Richard left the house with a brighter mood than when he had entered it. "Today is the day when things would get better for my daughter." He had thought before hopping into his car and driving to Jurado Co., where Miles is in training for taking over his father's business.
