A Vampire's Touch

Chapter 18 ~•Insanity•~

At first I couldn't do anything, then came the anger, sorrow and fear. I couldn't control myself, I run over to his coffin. Tears stream down my face uncontrollably as I grab his hand. I hold his delicate hand with my shaking hand.

My whole body is trembling. "Ethan.....I should have never fallen in love with you. I knew this was gonna happen. I know you can't hear me but.....I love you," I cry whisper. My voice sounds so weak and shaky.

I lean down and I kiss his cheek. His cheek is so cold on my warm lips. My tears drop onto his face and they roll down.

I put my head on his chest and sob into it. I can't hear anything, no heartbeat.

I feel someone's hand on my back, "Grace, we should go. We are not allowed here," says Jess.

"No! I can't leave him!" I scream.

Jess looks at me astonished, "shh! We don't want anyone to hear us here-"

Jess's sentence is cut short by a guard running in.

"What are you guys doing here?" asks the guard.

"We were just leaving," replies Jess, pulling my arm.

"I will not leave!" I shout.

I pull my arm from Jess's grip and I grab a pen that was on the table. I run up to the guard and jab the pen in his eye. The guard roars in pain and drops to the floor. Jess looks at me like I'm an animal.

More guards start coming in and I grab a knife from the guard on the floor. I run up to the other guards and scream, "HOW DARE YOU KILL ETHAN!" I start to stab the guards with the knife.

I didn't know I could be this fast, or have this much skill with a knife. I can't control myself, I don't know what I'm doing.

Sir William comes in looking like he's gonna kill everyone. I stop and walk back slowly.

"Grace! Who told you that you can come in?!" shouts Sir William.

"Sorry Father this is my fault," says Jess.

I start to feel pain on my arm, I look down and see a vampire bite mark. I quickly hide it so no one can see it.

"Jessica! Take her back to her room!" Sir William yells.

Jess grabs my arm and pulls me. As I walk out I see some guards on the floor injured because of me.

We get to my room and Jess closes the door shut.

"What was that?" Jess asks.

I drop the knife on the floor and I stare at her, "I don't know."

Jess sighs and pulls my sleeve up, and the she looks at the bite mark.

"Don't worry you won't turn into a vampire unless you die."

She walks towards the bed and picks up a big white dress, the one she brought in.

"This is the wedding dress I ordered, you have to tr-"

"I think I'm going insane," I interrupt Jess.

"I-...." says Jess, not knowing what to say.

She sighs and comes over to me. She wraps her arms around me and hugs me tightly.

"I know, I miss Ethan as well. I would go insane if I lost my loved one too. Now let me fix you up."

Jess lets go of me and pulls me into the bathroom. She gets a tissue and starts to dab it on the bite mark. She then gets a long wrap and wraps it around the bite.

Jess grabs more tissue and starts to wipe blood off my face, arms and hands. I feel a stab of pain in my heart, because I remember Ethan doing this to me.

"Okay all done, now it's time to put the dress on," says Jess and grabs the dress.

"When's the 'wedding'?" I ask.

"It's tomorrow."

"What? No I'm not doing it!"

"Grace please!"

Jess hands me the white dress, I push it away. Jess looks at me, with such sorrow.

"Grace, please do this. I know Ethan would want you to just do it, so you won't get hurt."

I look down and then look at the dress. I snatch the dress out of Jess's hands.

"Fine!"
