Bright diamonds sprinkle upon
The dark, settling sky,
A cool blanket over the blinking artificial lights.
But the moon steals the spotlight,
Illuminating the night
Even hiding away some of the stars
It's jealous
Of their beauty,
So it shows off its intriguing dark spots
The stars are angered now,
For they twinkle and shine brighter than before,
Wanting they're share of the sky.
The moon disapproves,
But it doesn't shy away.
It still reflects through the glass panels of our home,
Claiming that it'll stay
And that it'll come back tomorrow morning,
Ready for its battle... with the sun.
Author's Note:
Hi everyone, thanks for reading! This website seems to have a glitch because it won't let me center the poem and save it, it keeps changing back to its original after I re-publish it. It looked a lot better when it was centered. I am still trying to get it fixed, as this applies to all of my poems.
Thanks for reading :)
