Mark x Edward Fanfiction
----------------------------
It was a 5th period Green day at Marshall Kendrick Middle School. Mark and Edward were working on their ELAR project, Mark snacking on chips. "You want some?" He mumbled through a mouthful of Doritos. Edward sarcastically rolled his eyes and reached into the bag. Mark also went to get another chip at the exact same time, their hands touching. They both looked away, blushing.
Edward was sitting on the couch watching the news, when his phone buzzed. Mark had texted him, inviting him over to play a few matches of Fortnite. He smiled and tucked his phone into his pocket, shutting the door behind him.
The first thing he noticed walking inside his house was the living room. He had a huge flatscreen TV with about any console you could imagine, hooked up to dozens of controllers. "Is this dude filthy rich, or what..?" Edward sighed. "Edward! I'm in my room!" Mark called out, peeking his head out from the door. The other boy chuckled, climbing the stairs. Mark was sittting in a bean bag, waiting in the lobby. "Duos or Squads?" "I'd prefer you," Edward replied, hiding his confession behind a playful tone. Mark blushed and frowned. "Stop joking and join the game." Edward was taken aback by his reaction. It kind of... hurt? Why...? He didn't even mean it, but Mark's dismissal disappointed him. He brushed it off as nothing and picked up a controller, joining the Fortnite match. "Duos. I need to get some water first," Edward sighed, walking down the stairs and into the kitchen. Teary-eyed, he grabbed a glass and pressed it against the water dispenser attached to the fridge. He heard soft, rapid footsteps before turning around and seeing Mark.
He pinned him against the table, smirking, just centimeters above Edward. "You thought I rejected you, right...?" He asked, staring into his eyes. Edward scowled and turned away, his face getting hot. "I.. like you too.." Mark mumbled, blushing. "I... what?" Edward gaped as Mark softly held his chin, turning his head towards him. He closed the gap, pressing his lips against the other boy's.
