Chapter 1 (New pilot)

(A/N by the way, in this story Yancy lives, and Mako is Co-pilot to Stacker Penticost. )

[Nova's P.O.V]
I was in a squad called Ghost. We were scouts. I was chosen to be a pilot to a Jeager called Blue Crane. She was a brute when it came to getting a path cleared for the tanks and soldiers.

One day I was in the barracks with my squad when the Major called me. "1st lieutenant Titan! Front and center!" He commanded.

"Yes sir!" I said standing at attention.

"You have been chosen to take Blue Crane, and go to the Shatterdome to join the Jeager teams in fighting the Kaiju. You are to move out in 20 minutes.....Dismissed!" I stayed where I was till he left the room, then I started packing the few things I had.

"Take care you guys......And don't get yourselves killed." I said to my squad saluting to them as I got in the helicopter.

(Time skip At the Shatterdome)

Once the helicopter landed I was shown around the base and was told that dinner was in an hour. I went in my room and started unpacking.

As I was putting up a few pictures I had of my squad, friends back home and family, there was a knock on my door. I put done the pictures I was holding and went to my door. When I opened it I saw a kid, well a young man but to me he was still a kid. "Can I help ya kid?" I asked looking at him.

"Yeah, your the new pilot right?......And don't call me kid, I'm as old as you mate." He answered. I rolled my eyes and nodded. "My names Chuck, I'm one of the pilots to Striker Eureka. I was told to show you to the mess hall to have dinner." The kid looked a bit annoyed having to come here.

"Just give me a second kid." I said as I turned and grabbed the keys to my room. I locked my door and followed the kid.

We got to the mess hall and got a tray of food. I stopped at the top of the stairs, looking around for a table. I jumped when I felt a hand on my shoulder. "Your lieutenant Titan, aren't you?" A young man with sandy blond hair asked.

"Yeah I am." I answered. He smiled and looked to a another man with the same sandy blond hair.

"My names Raleigh, and this is my brother Yancy. We're the pilots to Gypsy Danger..... I gotta say it's an honor meeting you. We've heard of piloting skills." Raleigh said with a bright smile. Yancy held his hand out for a hand shake. I shook his hand, then they asked if I would sit with them. I agreed and sat down with them.

As we were eating an alarm went off. Raleigh and Yancy got up and so did the other pilots. I got up and followed Raleigh, Yancy and the others. We got to the control room where the Marshall started giving out orders. "Marshall let me go with them.....I can provide cover." I said standing at attention and looking him in the eye.

"And why would I let a pilot who has had no experience with fighting a Kaiju, out there?" He asked holding my gaze.

"Sir I'm a soldier, I am also a high rank, and I got rank through hard work...... Now please, let me go out and show you what I can do." I answered. He looked at me and then nodded waving for me to go.

I suited up, started up Blue Crane and headed out. As I was getting closer, I heard Crimson Typhoon on the intercom. "Shatterdome to Crimson, we need back up ASAP!"

"Crimson Typhoon, this is Blue Crane, I'm heading your way.....just hang on." I started running a bit faster heading for the sighting of the Kaiju.

Once I got there I fired a warning shot at the Kaiju. It looked at me and I took a fighting stance. "Come here ya ugly sack of slime!" I called through my Jeager. The Kaiju charged at me. But since I was smaller than the other Jeagers I was able to dodge the head on attack.

I swung out my swords and stated attacking the Kaiju's weak spots. Cutting and slashing, then taking it out with a Jeager grenade blowing its head clean off its shoulders. "Shatterdome to Blue Crane, Kaiju's has been taken out..... Proceeding to regroup with the other Jeagers." I said retracting my blades and heading to check on the others.

(Time skip)

Once all the Jeagers were back in the hangar I went to my room to turn in for the night.

I didn't really go to sleep, I just hung around in my room putting everything I had where I wanted it to be.

I had just put the last of my extra casual military clothes away, when there was a knock on my door. I went and opened it to see a man that looked a lot like the kid I met earlier. "Can I help you sir?" I asked. He looked up at me and smiled.

" my name's Herc Hannson, I'm Chuck's father..... I figured you would still be awake, and was wonderin if ya'd like to take a walk with me around the base? " He asked. (So that's why he looks like the kid.) I thought.

"I wouldn't mind a walk..... Still don't know where somethings are around here." I answered stepping out of my room and locked it. Herc smiled and I fell into stepping with him.

" what section were you in? " He asked after a while. I looked to him and tilted my head.

"Scouting.... Was the squad leader of Ghost. Heard of them?" I answered. He nodded his head and smiled at me.

" yeah I've heard of your squad. So that makes you First Lieutenant Titan huh. "

"Yeah that's me...... But just call me Titan or Nova. I don't really like being called first lieutenant."

"Which do you prefer to be called?"

"I don't really care.... I'll answer to rather of them. If you want to be formal with me you could called me by my last name which is Rockets. Other wise just call me Titan or Nova." I said. Herc nodded and opened the door we came to.

we talked and he showed me around the base a bit more. We ended up at the Jeager bay. "So you r pretty good with that Jeager of yours..... How'd ya learn to move that quick in her?"

" blue Crane is half the size of a regular Jeager.... She can move a lot faster, plus I'm able to analyze my opponents and find their weak spots easily. "

"So ya learn pretty quick from experience huh?"

"Yeah pretty much. I'm not as strong as most of opponents..... But I can take them down once I find their weak spots." Herc nodded and then stopped at my door. "Well thank you for the walk.... It was quite enjoyable."

"No thank you...... It's been a long time since I had company like that." I smiled and went in my room. (I think I might have fallen in love with one of the pilots of Striker Eureka.) I thought as I flopped down on my bed and fell on with a smile on my face.
