Hermione's POV
Three years ago I graduated from Hogwarts. I wish they had added an extra year on, but the castle was too destroyed to live and teach in. I now live in an apartment in London with Ron. We've been together since that kiss during the Battle. I work in the ministry of magic in the legislation of muggles department. Ron is a keeper in a Quidditch team. I know which team it is... but I just can't remember. Quidditch isn't really my thing.
I bent over my papers at my desk and crossed out a sentence. With a happy sigh I read over the rest of it. Funny. Twenty years old and I still enjoy work. Then I heard a knock on my office door. "Come in!" I called. The head of my department walked in. "Hello Miss Granger. I would like you to interview someone to work with you. I trust you already know Mr Draco Malfoy..." Draco walked in behind him, clad in a black and grey suit. I stiffened as soon as I saw him. He looked so professional, with his suit and slicked-back hair — but that didn't make me forget who he was inside. He helped Voldemort, tried to kill Harry, tried to kill me. I curtly nodded as he came in. "Good morning, granger." he said with his trademark smirk. I glared at him. I can't believe he still calls me by last name! Well, two can play at that game. "Morning Malfoy." I said back. The head of department slipped back through the door of my office. "I'll leave it to you two then."
"It's been a while since I last saw you granger." Malfoy said as he leant over my desk. "Yes, I believe it was when you attempted to kill me and my friends." I retorted. He got up and walked around the desk, dragging his chair along the marble floor. He sat down next to me with our knees touching, which felt uncomfortable. Close up, I could see his well-defined cheek bones and his ocean blue eyes. My gaze drifted down to his thin lips. His tongue slithered out to moisten them. His hair was obviously gelled and curled around his neck. He had broad shoulders and muscular arms that told he was working out. He actually looked sort of... handsome. I jumped as his rough fingers touched my arm. "What's wrong, granger?" he whispered in my ear, leaning forward over me. He nuzzled his head in the crook of my neck. I sat stock still, unsure what to do. "Feel... scared?" he whispered. I straightened suddenly, forcing him to lean back. "So, Mr Malfoy, what qualifications do you have?" I asked, reminding him this was a business interview. "Oh all the rights ones," he said. I stared into his deep blue eyes. "May I please see them Draco?" I asked in an unsure voice. Something in his eyes changed. They seemed to get brighter, yet darker at the same time. I found myself lost in his eyes, until his rasping voice brought me back out. "Say that again." He said. "Umm, can I see your qualifications?" I didn't know what he was playing at. He looked into my dark chocolate eyes. "No, my name." He reached out and touched me arm again. I swallowed. "D-Draco?" He smiled, but it wasn't a smirk, it was a genuine smile. He rubbed his nose against my ear.
"I like it when you say my name."
