It was seven in the morning when the buzzing sound of the alarm took over the silence in Zhen Wu's room, waking him up. Without opening his eyes, he reached for his mobile phone on the nightstand, sweeping the screen to turn off the alarm. He then lazily got up, did his morning routine and went to the kitchen.

 "Good morning."

"Good morning son". His mom was making breakfast and it smelled like scrambled eggs and freshly baked cake.

He drank a glass of water and asked, "Is Zhen Wen still sleeping?"

"Probably. You should go wake him up or he'll sleep the whole morning." She continued, "I have a meeting in half an hour and Zhen Wen's father already left. So it's only you two for breakfast. Make sure you eat before you leave."

"Thanks mom," he replied.

She took her apron off before kissing his forehead, "I have to go now. I'll see you tonight." Mid way to the door, she paused, turned around and pointed her index finger at Zhen Wu, "Don't be late for school. You have national exams this year so you need to study hard." He simply nodded. This was not a subject he wanted to be reminded of. As he was one year older than Zhen Wen, he was one year ahead in school. This meant that next year he would have to leave to university. But this also meant leaving Zhen Wen behind since he had to remain one more year in high school. He couldn't imagine one day without seeing him, let alone days or even weeks. He pushed these thoughts away and quickly set the table for breakfast before heading to Zhen Wen's bedroom.

Upon reaching his room, he carefully opened the door to not make any sudden noises. As expected, Zhen Wen was soundly sleeping. The room was dark with only a few rays of sunlight picking through the curtains, making enough light for Zhen Wu to be able to walk through without turning on the lights. He made his way to the bed and sat one the edge, leaning forward closer to his ear, "Zhen Wen, it's time to wake up." He spoke in a low and gentle voice, almost like whispering. "Come on, get up, or we'll be late," he said as he pulled the blanket away from his body.

Zhen Wen slightly opened his eyelids, only to close them again immediately, "No. I'm tired." He reached for the blanket and tucked it up to his neck again.

"You're such a sleepyhead," Zhen Wu said as he caressed his hair. "I'll let you sleep a few more minutes but then you have to get up."

On that moment, Zhen Wu remembered when they were younger and used to sleep together all the time. Their parents would send them to bed but they would sneak into each other's room and read manga together until exhaustion. But it has been a long while since this last happened and Zhen Wu felt a sudden longing for those times. Without much thinking, he slid his body down under the covers, snuggled closer to Zhen Wen and let himself be captured by the cozy warmth of his body. He then buried his face into Zhen Wen's hair, closed his eyes, and took a deep long breath. In less than a second his mind was filled with nostalgic memories that made him forget about anything else. And as he tried to grasp to every detail of those memories, he slowly fell into a deep sleep.

A few hours passed when the sound of an incoming message woke Zhen Wen. He was sleeping so profoundly earlier that only now he noticed that Zhen Wu was sleeping by his side with his body pressed against his. He smiled and gently lifted Zhen Wu's arm that was resting over his chest, so he could search for his phone that was in the bed somewhere. After finally locating it, he read the message. It was from Hsia Yu Hao, "Where are you guys?" Hsia Yu Hao had been in the same class as Zhen Wen ever since elementary school and they had been friends since then.

Zhen Wu woke up right after. "What time is it?" He asked.

Zhen Wen looked at the time. Shit!  he thought, and then hesitantly replied, "11 am."
