The year was 6026. Charlotte had been born on Mars exactly fourteen years ago, in Earth years anyways.
Today was her birthday, she'd asked to be taken to the museum, they had all kinds of samples of Earth plants and displayed them. Most of them unfortunately were simply shown through a cheap tablet screen, like most of the exhibits. The museum was fairly new, they had barely anything up there that could be preserved the way it needed to be.
Charlotte had a strange fascination with Earth, with it's collapse, with it's history, with it's people, with it's previous life; with everything. To think that they made so many mistakes and had it all there in front if them. Could this possibly happen to them? Would they follow the same footsteps? Would they be blinded by money just like them?
She sighed, almost sad in a way. She constantly tried to put herself in their position, to not care about their world, to care about the construct of money more then family. She couldn't, to live with such cruel mentalities, to feel perfectly fine with watching the world die around her; she just couldn't put herself in such a mindset. It was like trying to live in a upside down world.
"Charlotte! Come on sweetie, we're going to get something to eat. Your dad just came here from work. We don't want to keep him waiting for to long." Charlotte's mother called out to her.
"Coming Mom!" Charlotte had given the fish one last look.
