Chapter One: I Don’t Wanna
Fowl Manor
“ Mother, I am highly opposed to your decision. I do not wish to attend this summer camp, no matter ‘fun and character building’ it may be. I already know everything there is to know about art, and Diana is going to paint my tradition portrait for the wall, not myself. I have already studied everything about art and do not wish to continue my studies, thank you,” Artemis argued.
Artemis, Diana (Kitty), and Angeline Fowl stood in the downstairs kitchen at Fowl Manor, arguing over the fate of Artemis and Kitty’s summer vacation. Their school, St. Bartleby’s, had become coed after Artemis Fowl Senior’s large donation so that Kitty and Artemis could attend school together, and Kitty would not be shipped off to Sister Mary’s School for Young Ladies during the school year.
“ Come on, Arty. I can go with you, since the advanced classes don’t start until the week after we get back. It will be really fun! I’ve already hacked the system and put us in the same group-…Which I only did for Arty’s comfort and happiness, Angeline,” Kitty said, her brown curls sweeping the tops of her shoulders, and the splatter of freckles across her nose darkening from her blush as she averted her mismatched eyes, one piercing blue and the other, her own kaleidoscopic eye. Her and Artemis had managed to switch eyes in the timestream.
“Alright, if I must…”
“Thank you, Arty,” Angeline rumpled her son’s hair affectionately, and Kitty lightly hugged him lightly. “Better go start packing!”
