Johnny was probably the last person anyone would expect to be friends with Dylan. He was obnoxious, full of energy, obsessed with all things technical.
Dylan was the opposite. He was shy, a little lazy, and more obsessed with nature and all the things that aren't manmade.
They looked rather opposite as well. Dylan hair was blonde, and a few centimeters shorter then shoulder length. His hair was straight and soft as he liked to keep it. His eyes were a wonderful shade of hazel, and as horrible as it sounds they looked amazing when he was crying. His skin was almost pale white though his cheeks practically turned the shade of lobster when he blushed. Since he was Irish, he didn't tan well. Or at all. So as much as he loved being outside, he had to bathe himself in SPF 1,000,000 or he'd catch on fire. He was quite tall for 13, not as tall as Johnny who was a year older.
Johnny's hair was a dark brown, and quite curly, probably much longer than Dylan's if it was to be straightened. His eyes were emerald green, and very big too. The way they lit up and became large when he was determined or hopeful was an extremely magical sight. His skin was lightly tanned, and he was more wiry than his younger friend.
They were friends though. Best friends. They hung out whenever possible, doing only god knows what. Today was a day they had planned the whole week. They would play some games and relax at home until the sun began to set, then when it did they would buy some snacks and drinks and head to the overpass.
The overpass was built many years ago, around the days when trains were a major form of transport. The overpass was recently formed so it was legitimately an overpass and cars could drive under it. The railroad was still on the top of the over pass but the train doesn't take that way any longer. Since there were many bright cars and even brighter buildings in the area, sitting on the overpass was pretty much the most beautiful thing to do in the horrid city they had to call home.
Dylan and Johnny climbed up and got on the overpass, looking down at the cars with a smile. The lights as they sped by shone brightly at night. As much as it sounds like something that shouldn't really be a big deal to city kids, it was.
"I-I'ts surprisingly beautiful out here, y-y'now..?" Dylan said with a shiver, the night chill really setting in.
Johnny took off his hoodie and put it around Dylan with a slight chuckle, not being as sensitive to the cold as him. "I told you to bring your jacket just in case, Dyl. But, yeah, it really is somethin' , huh?" He said as he looked back to the scenery before them. "I don't get out that much so this seems like something special." He said with a shrug.
"H-hey, in this crappy place, this is the most of a lightshow we are ever gonna get to see." He said with a smile as he turned to face Johnny. "When you first told me this idea, I thought it was going to be pretty boring, but I was wrong..."
Johnny nodded in agreement as he looked back at Dylan. "Don't ever question my ideas, dude. When have I ever led you wrong other then those four times last year?" He said with a grin, his joke making Dylan let out an adorable giggle.
Dylan soon stopped smiling as his heart began to beat rapidly. He remembered something. Something he wanted to tell Johnny tonight. He didn't know what to say or how to say it. 'There's nothing to be worried about...right?' He thought to himself. He didn't think Johnny would hate him if he told him the truth. It was the truth, and you can't hate someone for the truth. Dylan took a deep breath and exhaled, wanting to say his friend's name with confidence but it came out as a whimper. "J-johnny..?" He uttered meekly.
"Are you okay?" Johnny replied, seeing a nervous and scared look on the other's face. "You feeling sick or something?"
"N-no... I'm feeling alright... But... I need to tell you something. Just promise not to hate me..." He said, shaking a little from how nervous he was and the cold combined.
"I could never hate you, dude... What's up?" He said ask he got close to Dylan, ready to reassure him that everything was going to be alright no matter what.
Dylan closed his eyes for a moment and opened them, and they looked up at Johnny hopefully. "I... May... I may kind of..." He stuttered, but Jonathan put a finger on his lips to shush him.
"Dyl... I know..." He said with a caring smile as he hugged Dylan tight. "You kinda made it obvious, you know. Just don't worry, I don't hate you and I never will." He said reassuringly as Dylan held back tears. "I fact... I feel the complete opposite of hate for you." He said as he looked down at Dylan and gave him a soft kiss on the lips, causing his cheeks to turn a bright shade of red.
Oh my god there it is everybody. That was fun. Not bad for my first public story in my opinion. If it sucks, it sucks. It's a tiny little story and that's that. If there is any mistakes, it's cuz I am waaaay to lazy to edit it. I won't be like this with more serious stories though. See you guys later!
