*Suwi's P.O.V*

"Suwi!"
I hear my mother call for me but I'm too occupied to even respond.
"If you don't get down here I will come to you and you won't like it at all," she threatens.
Damn. African mothers always follow through with their threats. I head downstairs quickly to see what she wants.
"Pass me the remote"
"Mum, the remote is only a few centimetres away, all you have to do is stretch your hand," I whine.
"Yes, I can stretch my hand but I want you to stretch your body and pass it to me,"she retorts.
Gosh. My mum is the best mum in the whole world but sometimes she can be pretty annoying. I pass her the remote and head back to my room before she asks me to get her anything else.
School opens in two days and I'll be in grade 11.

*Ring* *ring* *ring*
My alarm goes off.
Another three months of school with the same damn people, same teachers and same routine. I hate school.
I get up after a whole ten minutes of wondering why I couldn't have been a duck.
As soon as I'm ready, my mum drives me to school.
On our way there, we pick up one of my classmates, Sitali.
"How was the holiday?" She asks me.
"It was amazing, I spent it with my family as usual." I tell her.
"Aren't you going to ask how mine was?" She questions.
"Oh yeah sure, how was yours?"
"It was fantastic. We went to Siavonga. It's such a beautiful place. The water, the activities, the food. I couldn't get enough of it."
"I'm happy that you enjoyed it," I respond.
We  finally get to school and I kiss my mum goodbye before heading towards class.
I see a few familiar faces and they all say hi to me.
There's so much noise in school and I don't recall why when suddenly my best friend comes running straight into me causing me to lose my balance a little.
"Omg I missed you so much Suwi!"
"I missed you even more Musenge"
"So, there are new students in school," she tells me.
Oh yeah. That's what all the noise is about.
We have new grade 8 and 10 students.
"Come on, let's sit by the bench outside class and see if we can find any nice looking boys." Musenge says.
She's always looking for a new catch.
I whine a little but somehow I find myself sitting on the bench and looking out for "a new catch" as she calls it.
And that's when I see him.
