chapter 1

"Lizzy wake up Ms. Columbo said a man is coming today!" I sat up and rubbed my eyes. "Is he looking to adopt someone?" Her eyes sparkled as she nodded furiously. I smiled slightly and she walked away. Her name is kaelie shes 12, shes always so super happy to be honest it's annoying. My name is Elizabeth Delarose, I'm 17, I have long brown hair and blue eyes. As I got up i noticed my stuffed bunny Kaya was gone and I started to panic. She was the only thing I had from my parents. I started frantically searching the whole room. Then I had an idea of where she could be. I stormed down the stairs into the living room to see her in Moniques arms. Monique was 14 and beautiful but mean. She liked to bully me all the time. She giggled when she saw the anger and fear in my eyes. "Monique give her back you know shes mine!" She smirked and laughed. "Hasn't Ms.colombo taught you how to share." My eyes started to water as I ran over to her. My 5 foot self wasn't very intimidating though."please give her back!" She was about to say something as we heard someone coming down the hall, her eyes widened and she threw Kaya at me. I cuddled her close and heard someone clear their throat behind me. When I turned around i was met face to face with an incredibly handsome man. "Hi I'm looking for Ms. Colombo,Do you know where she is?" Before I could speak Monique jumped up " I'll show you!" He nodded and waved bye to me then left. I hadn't noticed that I stopped breathing. I just walked back to me bed and squealed!he was so cute! To bad be won't adopt me. No one wants a 17 year old. "Lizzy it's our turn to make lunch come on." She grabbed my hand and dragged me down the stairs to the kitchen. "What are we making today?" She shrugged "sandwiches?" I nodded and got to work. As we were making the sandwiches I felt like someone was watching me. When I turned I saw that beautiful man from earlier. "Are you looking for something?" I asked him in quietly. Ms. Colombo asked me to see what was for lunch." I nodded and handed him 2 sandwiches. "Here you go. " He chuckled and walked away but stopped and turned around. " what's your name?" I stammered "el-elizabeth" He smirked "I'm Giovanni Luciano." I blushed as her turned and actully walked away the time. Kaelie smiled at me and I giggled. After we finished I set the table and kaelie got the girls. I sat at the end of the table next to kaelie . I overheard Monique talking about Mr. Luciano " He likes me and I'm pretty sure he'll adopt me " She laughed. All the girls around her were jealous. When I finished and walked to ms. Colombo's office and knocked. As I walked in I noticed Mr. Luciano in there. "Yes elizabeth? " i played with my hands looking at the ground. "i need to go to the store ms. for dinner, the grocery store is having a sale. She nodded and handed me some money. She grabbed my hand and sternly looked into my eyes "Don't talk to anyone and walk away from the road". I nodded and walked out of the office with mr. Luciano's eyes burning into me. Did I look strange? I quickly forgot about it as I left with a list in my hand. Monique tripped me on my way out. "Oh did I do that? I'm sorry." She faked an apologetic look. I just stood up and walked away. We didn't get out much. The area the orphanage is in isn't a very good one. As I walked to the store people whistled at me talking to me, I just quickened my pace and started running. When I finally got to the store I was out of breath holding my chest. I grabbed a cart and made my way through out the store. As I was walking I noticed a man following me. He followed me into each isle I went into. I was about to turn around when I felt him behind me. I stopped dead in my tracks not knowing what to do. His hand rubbed my side making his way up to my boobs. That's when I started crying, that turned into loud sobs. He grabbed my boob and someone ripped him off me. It was Mr. Luciano. He punched him in the face and whispered into his ears. I don't know what he whispered but by the look of the man's face it must have been bad. The man ran way with a look of sheer terror on his face leaving mr. Luciano and me with tears still sobbing. He walked over to her and hugged me into his chest patting my back. "Shhh baby girl you're fine now. " hearing this slowly but surely calmed me down. I wiped my eyes and looked up at him he must be 6'2 . "Thanks you so much Mr. Luciano" i quietly sniffled. "No problem want me to help you finish shopping?" I nodded and off we went. When we were done we walked to the check out and waited in line. As it got to our turn he helped me place my things on the belt. When I was about to pay he took out a black card and payed. I stared at him in awe. He was like an angle. He smiled then grabbed my groceries. "Let's go baby girl" i smiled but tried to take some groceries but he wouldn't let me. "Let's me help please." I said but it sounded more like a whine. "No, now let's go you have to make dinner don't you?" I nodded and walked along side him. As we walked I noticed no one tried cat calling me or talking to me, he made me feel safer. When we got back he put all the groceries in the kitchen. "Ms. Colombo asked me to stay for dinner I look forward to try your food." He smiled and I returned it. After that he left and Monique walked in. She gave me a stank face and shoved me to the floor. "What was that Elizabitch!" I gave her a look of pure confusion "what was what?" She scoffed at me "Why was he with you he's mine!" I flinched at her words and tried to get up. "He was outside and helped me carry in groceries, he's staying for dinner." Her lips curled into a grinch smile. "I'm sitting next to him, bye elizabitch." She skipped out of the kitchen laughing. A tear rolled down my cheek but I wiped it quickly. I'm too sensitive!

-2 hours later-

Finally dinner was done and I started to set the table and serve. After everything was ready i called the girls and knocked on ms. Colombo's office door. "Ma'am dinners ready." She nodded and looked back at the papers on her desk. I quickly scurried back to the dining room to start eating. The room was filled with conversations and laughter until ms. Colombo and Mr. Luciano walked in. He looked at me and smiled. "Please sit where ever you want" He nodded and walked tword me until Monique ran over to him "you should sit next to me sir." He ignored her and sat next to me. She glared at me and muttered something under her breath as she walked back to her spot. He stared at me while he was eating I didn't know what to do. I quickly ate my soup and stood up but he grabbed my arm. "Where are you going? " I quickly sat back down and stared at my hands. "So elizabeth what's your favorite color? I mumbled "pink" not looking at him. He put his finger under my chin and forced me to look up. "Its not nice to not look at someone when they're talking to you baby girl." I blushed and stared at him. He smiled at patted my head. "Now what's your favorite color?" "It's p-pink" He chuckled and smiled " i should have guessed." I gently picked up my bowl and stood up. "I need to put my bowl in the sink" with that I walked to the kitchen. As I put my bowl in the sink I felt someone shove me into the counter . When I turned around i was met with Monique. As soon as I turned around she slapped me. I held my cheek and looked at the floor. When I tried to get up she kicked me in the stomach and knocked all the air out of my lungs. "I already told you he's mine!" Tears streamed down my face as I was engulfed in pain. I tried to get away but the pain was to much, the world went black all i could hear was laughing. Why does this have to happen to me?

Giovani's POV~

"Maria I want to adopt her." She looked at me puzzled. "Which one? I have a lot of girls here." "Elizabeth" She nodded and stood up to get the paperwork , that was when we heard a scream. Everyone ran to the place where the scream came from, the kitchen. On the floor was elizabeth with tears dried to her face. A girl was sobbing next to her " i walked in and she was out cold" I picked her up but she jolted awake in a panic thrashing around. "NO NO LET ME GO PLEASE!" I set her down gently. Maria walked over to her and whispered in her ear. They walked out of the room and I followed close behind. We all walked into the office and I shut the door. Maria sighed "Elizabeth what happened " She looked at the floor "i haven't been able to get alot of sleep recently." She was lying. Maria just sighed and looked at me. "Elizabeth Mr. Luciano here wants to adopt you." Her mouth was to the floor
"Me are you sure?" She looked at me shocked, she was so cute I wanted to kiss her but that's for later. All of a sudden my phone rang "Boss we need you Brunos gang shot up our turf." My teeth clenched "I'm on my way" I hung up and look at the girls "i gotta go I'll pick her up tomorrow" I kissed her forehead and smiled.
My princess is mine now all mine.
