A girl and two boys were watching old cartoon reruns on their tv. A messy stack of missing fliers was strewn across the table. That depicted a girl with her long ginger hair in a pony tail, smiling brightly. The male on the far right of the couch wore a Star Wars hoodie, the girl next to him had on a white sun dress, and the male on the far left and on a simple t shirt with his favorite striped wristband on his right hand. The girl yawned and reached for the remote. "I think we should sleep now guys, we gotta put more of theses fliers up tomorrow." She was about to turn the tv off when a breaking news flash came on shocking the three. "Reports of a murderer have been flooding the police. We advise all viewers to stay in their homes and make sure everyone is inside, and to lock you doors. More on this story as it develops." Then it cut off. The girl panicked, as she was easily scared. "M-murder? Wh-what if there th-the ones who k-killed Je-Jenny." She said as she picked up a flier. She missed her friend greatly, and could only imagine how her dad felt, as Jenny was the only person he had left after his wife left him. The boy wearing the Star Wars hoodie placed his hand on her shoulder. "We don't know that. Jenny could have just ran away. We don't know, the least we can do is look for her." The girl wipes a tear that she let fall. "I-I gu-guess That could be it. Thanks for calming me down James." She said smiling at him. The other male rose up. "We should still take precautions. I'll go lock all the upstairs windows, James you lock all the doors and windows down here, and Mary, get us something  to defend ourselves if there WERE a chance someone broke in." He said as he assessed up the stairway. Mary went into the kitchen get some knifes to arm everyone when her phone rang. She reached over to it as it was on the kitchen counter, and answered the call. "Hello?" There wasn't a voice back, just heavy breathing. "Hello? Is anyone there?" She tried again, and when she didn't get a response she hung up. "Must have been a butt dial." She said as she met back up with her friends in the living room. "Did you make sure the basement door got locked?" The talker one of the males asked. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure I got it." James said as Mary handed each a defense knife. "Good, now we just have to make sure that no one leaves the house." The male spoke as the lights flickered. Mary flinched a little. "Ma-maybe my-y par-arents ju-just forgot to pay the b-bills." James pointed at the other male. "Hey, you're good with electronic stuff, right mark?" Mark nodded. "Of course I am, are you suggesting I go into the basement to check the fuse box alone when there's a killer on the loose?" This is when Mary decided to step in and say she'll go with Mark to the basement as James held down the fort upstairs. As the two descended into the mouth of the basement, Mary got more and more anxious, what if the killer was down there? They found the fuse box and got the lights to work again. The girl let out a sigh of relief, looks like her imagination just got the better of her again. As the two walked upstairs they noticed a strong smell. When they got to the top of the stairs they found a sight the looked like it came straight out of a horror film. It was James, brutally stabbed in his chest, and his defense knife  in his forehead, his hoodie torn and stained with his blood. Mary let out the most blood curdling scream Mark ever heard sh he stared in horror. "Mary, call the police, NOW." He demanded as he stared to walk upstairs to try and catch the killer. The girl finally got out of her frightened state and made a beeline to the kitchen were her phone was. "911, what's your emergency?" Mary told the lady on the phone that the killer had broken into her house and her address. The lady told her to calm down and that she was sending in a police car immediately. As she put down the phone she heard a scream. And ran towards it, not thinking things through in her panicked and worried star of mind. "Mark!? Mark?!?" She called   Out to her friend only to find his mangled body in the upstairs hall way, his chest stabbed in a similar way to James. She heard a chuckling down the hall and ran into her room to hide since it was so close. She hid under the bed as she saw the black shoes of the psycho enter her room. She saw him walk around, looking in her closet for her, and just when she thought the coast was clear, Mary felt her ankle get grabbed as she was viscously pulled out from   Under her bed. She kicked her leg loose and backed up away from the killer. Only now was she able to get a good look at his face. Wait....he looked awfully familiar, was that. "John?!" She said in surprise, John was Jenny's grieving father, and he smirked at Mary. "Good job, you guessed it. Unlike your two idiot friends." Mary started to cry aloud. "B-b-bu-bu-but wh-wh-why-y?? Wh-why d-di-did y-you-ou d-do th-this??" She tied her best to sound brave but her fear was to much. John rolled his dull green eyes. "I suppose I'll tell you, you were Jenny's best friend and you aren't gonna live to tell the tale any way." He twirled the knife he held in his fingers. "As you know Jenny has gone missing. And I was patient with those idiots if cops, until they closed her case. They closed my baby's case! They decided that she wasn't important enough  to find! I had to do something. So I made a list of every suspect o could think of. And one by one I'm gonna kill them all. I am going to find my baby. No matter who's blood I spill." Those were the last words Mary ever heard, before she felt a knife in her stomach. The police arrived at the scene of the crime and began the usual protocol for a murdered victims. One of them began talking to his co worker. "I wonder who could have done this. We've found nothing but unreliable leads. And he's still out there!" He complained and the other spoke. "I now, but we are going to find him. We have too." Just as he finished that. The phone rang.
