People ran past my window screaming. I looked outside. There were men, rows of them, lined up on both sides on the streets, military men with guns. Men were sent out, most likely to find anyone else trying to escape. One man for every building. I hid under my bed, under the loose floor boards. Footsteps were heavy on the wood above me. The light shown through the small cracks of the door as the bed was pushed aside. The creaks of the door made me shake even more then what I already was. A strong hand reached around the back of my collar and lifted me up into the broad sunlight. I pulled on the hand to try to free myself, but the grip was too tight. I was set back down to where I was standing up. The man looked at me dead in the eyes and grabbed both of my wrists. He lead me outside where the soldiers has everyone lined up in four straight lines. I was put with the others in the second row. With each 10 minutes, they took at least four to five people in the truck. No one knows where the truck goes, all anyone knows is that once you get in there you cant and never come back. When they got you, you would fear for you life. And if they tested you for a specific disease, they would drag you away kicking and screaming to the truck. Lets just call them 'Amerns'. The Amerns got to a few people in front of me when they called for a boy with crystal blue eyes and brownish-gold hair. They pricked his finger and had him do a few tests, a few seconds later they drug him to the truck. The next girl they approved and sent her to the row of 'The Saved'. Those who were saved by god. "NEXT" I was up next, my legs began to shake with each step I took. I sat down at the table. The man yanked my hand towards him and poked it with a needle. He handed me a slip of paper. The questions were very peculiar. Ive never seen these problems in school before. I answered them as best I could and I handed it back to the man. He looked over the paper and looked back at another man dressed in a uniform. The man came over and grabbed my arm. I began to scream and beg and try to free myself from the grip but I couldnt. I was put in the truck and was locked to the walls with cuffs. About three or four others were in the padded box with us. Chained to the walls, all we could do was talk. One of the other girls broke the silence. "So, um. Does anyone know why we're here?" Everyone shook their heads 'no'. Another boy that got in here before us spoke up. "So is anyone leaving anyone or anything behind?" another boy, and what seemed to be his sibling, burst into tears. "We had to leave behind our mom" There were six of us people in the truck. There were four boys and two girls. One including me. "Can we all just introduce ourselves already? I heard this is a long trip. Ill go first. Then the rest of the boys. Im Mekhi." "Im Roco" "Akin" "And I-Im Enzo" a girl with a peppy yet terrified voice interrupted Enzo "Im Lilja! You guys can call me L if you want or.." "OK" I shouted at her. "And what is your name?" Mekhi looked at me. "Its Adira" I looked away. Ashamed of my name. My name meant small. And weak. My parents didn't know until a few years after I was born. Mekhi spoke up once more "Well its nice to meet everyone." A strong force pulled on my body causing the cuffs on my wrists to dig into my skin. I winced in pain as the truck came to a speeding stop. A bright light came from the back of the room. A few men had stepped in and undid our cuffs. When we got out of the truck the sunlight burnt our eyes. Each person had a soldier to lead them to a large circular building. When we stepped inside each person was put into a light colored tank. A holding tank. "You will be stationed in here until further notice" one of the soldiers stated. I punched the lightly stained glass wall. "COME ON. I WILL NOT BE DETAINED ANY LONGER!" A dark figure appeared by the wall. "You wont be for very long."
