*Vanessa’s POV*

I couldn’t help but grin as I changed into a warm set of clothes that Kimberly had set out for me since she didn’t want me getting all the dry clothes in my suitcase wet.

Once I got out I tiptoed past the couch where Reid was asleep and walked out to the front where Kimberly and Neil were. Neil had a towel over his head, and he was still pretty soaked.

Kimberly smiled when she saw me, causing Neil to turn around, who grinned at me. His smile stopped me cold, and I felt butterflies in my stomach.

“That better now that you’re dry?” She asked me.

I nodded, and she smiled “Now you go Neil, before you ruin anymore of the carpet or get sick.” She continues.

Neil just rolled his eyes, and then smiled mischievously. He took the towel off his head after he stood up, and then he shook his wet hair, psraying the whole room, and especially Kimberly.

She jumped away, smacking his head. “Neil Clark Perry!! We have to live with each other on this bus for the next month, so you best not do that, or I’ll murder you in your sleep.” She said.

Neil and I both laughed, and he grabbed my hand as he laughed.

“Good Night pretty girl.” He said, and after seeming to debate with himself for a while, he kissed my forehead, making me blush.

“N….Night Neil.” I stammered out, and he smiled and went back to take a shower.

I turned around to find Kimberly holding a mug of hot chocolate out to me, a humongous grin on her face as she handed it to me.

“AWWWWW YOU BOTH ARE SO CUTE!” SHe burst out, making me laugh, and turn a little redder.

“So how was the date?!” She asked me, leaning forward as I sipped the hot chocolate.

I laughed at her enthusiasm, and told her everything, and I stopped at one point, smiling nervously.

“What is it?!” She asked, and I just shook my head.

“Come on! You can tell me!” She said, staring me down.

After a while I give in, knowing I would have confided in her sooner or later.

“Well it was amazing like I said, and just before the sprinklers went off we were talking, and he was being so sweet and…” I trailed off.

“And what?!” Kimberly asked in frustration.

I laughed and stammered “We… I think we almost kissed.” I dropped my gaze.

There was a silence, and I looked up and saw that Kimberly had a huge grin on her face “AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW” She squealed.

I just laughed and shook my head as I finished off my hot chocolate.

“So what did the date show you? How did you feel about it?” She asks seriously.

I feel a smile spread on my face. “I really like him. I hope we can do it again.” I admitted.

Kimberly grinned and pulled me into a hug.

“From what Neil said he feels the same. You two are just so cuuute!” Sh squealed, ruffling my hair.

I just laughed and shrugged, letting out a yawn.

Kimberly laughed and said “You should go get some sleep baby girl! We have a long day of travelling ahead of us, and of course your big day! Happy early Birthday!!”

I tried to smile as much as I could, but I think Kimberly seemed to see through it, and she pulled me into a tight hug, rubbing my back comfortingly.

I sighed, knowing I was being dumb, but it was just hard that I’d be spending my Birthday without my Mom and penned up in an RV all day. I mean I don’t mean to sound like I’m complaining. I love being on tour, and being with the Perrys, and Jimmy, Craig and Jack was amazing, but it was still hard.

“I’m sorry that you’re stuck on the bus for your Birthday, but I promise we’ll do our best to make is special for you baby girl. Now why don’t you go get some rest?” She said.

I nodded with a slight smile, and walked back toward the room. I walked right into Neil who was now in dry clothes as well, and he smiled when he saw me.

Though we both froze when we saw how close our faces were from bumping each other. We both turned red and started t lean in, but then Reid let out a loud snore, making us jump.

Neil laughed nervously and ran his hands through his hair “Hey um I had a great time tonight, and I was ugh hoping that we could maybe do this again some time, like Monday?” He asked nervously.

I blushed and nodded awkwardly.

“I’d love that.” I said.

He grinned and pulled me into a hug, kissing my cheek as he pulled away.

“Good night and Happy Birthday pretty girl.” He said.

I smiled and said good night, and couldn’t wipe the grin off of my face as I sank into the bed, now optimistic about my Birthday since I’d get to spend it with Neil.

As I slowly fell asleep all I could think about was our 2 almost kisses, and how happy I felt when I was with him. I smiled as I finally fell asleep, looking forward to another day with Neil.
