Martha walked through the forest in the late afternoon. It was a regular pass time of hers, a way for her to escape from people in the world. She looked through the leaves of the trees, squinting at the overshadowing sun. Her foot suddenly came in contact with a cold wetness, just her luck to step in a muddy puddle. She sighed and carried on walking, hoping to get to her destination soon, a circle of trees where she felt safe for once.Martha was soon to be less lucky than any day then to simply step in a mud puddle. There were green tentacles that seamlessly blended in with the surroundings. These tentacle’s jobs were to sniff out and collect pray for the other one’s to harvest and keep. It wasn’t long before these tentacles sniffed the girl out, for they could smell females better than a blood hound. Once Martha was still they slowly crept up behind their prey. Once they were about a foot away they latched onto both her ankles. The tentacles were covered with a sticky glue-like solution so their prey would have a hard time escaping. She was silent for a moment, all colour draining from her face. Surely, this wasn't happening, surely it was merely one of her hallucinations. However, it felt so real that her brain decided that she should struggle and scream, possibly looking like an idiot if the tentacles were hallucinations. Her struggles seemed futile, causing her to fall on the floor with a thud, but she wouldn't go down without a fight. She dug her fingers into the soil, clawing at anything she could as her legs kicked frantically. The tentacles have done this millions of times, it was their nature. The tentacles decided not to play around and constricted on her legs, making them be pushed together. The tentacles to capture were made just of extremely strong muscle, they were so strong they could crush a steel plate. They started to drag her, her clawing at the dirt only making it worse for herself. They dragged her for a good few minutes before they stopped, which was oddly weird of the stories of people surviving such creatures.
