A/N Okay, so I wrote this like last year or something, and decjded to publish at as a Christmas special or something but it turned out to be so chaotic and busy that I forgot about until today. I could publsih it next Christmas but I am done being patient. Enjoy!
Everything is calm and quiet. There is no soul awake in the castle any longer. The breathing of the Fat Lady's portrait and the quiet touch of the snow against the windows are the only sounds audible.
Suddenly two shapes appear at the end of the corridor. The shadows of two boys, holding hands, visibly very close to each other by heart.
Reaching the portrait, they stop.
The taller boy bends down and kisses the other. Two bodies wind together in desperate need of closeness, seemingly never to be separated.
When they finally draw apart, the smaller boy smiles, looking up at the other's eyes, green meeting silver.
"Merry Christmas." One whispers to the other.
"Merry Christmas." The other answers, also whispering. You can feel the love and happiness in the air.
Letting go of each other's hands, they've been holding, one of the boys turns towards the now awake portrait.
"Fairylights" he says quietly. The woman nods, revealing a door behind her.
Sending one last glance at the boy he had left behind, he steps inside a room which had just appeared behind him, and the portrait closes.
In the corridor stands a boy, alone, in the small light, coming from the wand he is holding, still looking at the door, no longer there.
He sighs and turns around, smiling dreamily, seemingly in his own world.
Soon he is gone, leaving only the breathing of the Fat Lady'd portrait and sound of the snow's quiet touch against the windows.
