Long ago, there were two brothers named Cain and Abel. As you’ve probably heard or read, Cain grew jealous of his brother and murdered him, becoming the world’s first murderer.
Cain was then marked by god and condemned to live on Earth for all eternity, and that was the end of their story, but the beginning of mine.
Centuries later, the Romans had just enslaved the British. Cain was the Romans’ General and head executioner and left nothing but bloodshed in his wake. His plan was to kill as many mortals as possible and he was merciless.
As an angel, it was my job to watch over the humans. I had thought I was doing the right thing when I flew down to earth. I went straight to Cain and removed the mark that God had placed on him, then killed him. I thought God would have been pleased with me for saving the mortals.
When I returned to heaven, God was furious. He told me I should not have undone his curse on Cain and then taken a human life. He then told me I would take his place on Earth for eternity as my punishment, with no way of returning to Heaven. I was then cast out, falling down to Earth, where I would spend eternity.
