She replayed the voicemail, just to make sure she heard correctly.
"I'm driving to your hotel right now."
That was over an hour and a half ago. Where was she?
The phone rang in Annalise's hand. She didn't bother checking the name, hoping it was Bonnie, she answered straight away.
"Hi"
"It's me" Nate's voice echoed across the room and Annalise let herself feel a little disappointed. She was seriously starting to worry about Bonnie.

"You alone?"
"No I'm with Frank. What is it?" Annalise was a little impatient. He better not be calling her for a booty call because she was seriously not in the mood.
"There's been a car accident"
Frank looked up with worry written all over his face, and she didn't need a mirror to know that her expression matched his. She ended the call, not wanting to know anything else.

She knew that Jorge was behind this. And that meant one of 2 victims. His daughter who had been trying her damned hardest to get him locked away, or Bonnie, the person trying so hard to put him away and protect her family and ended up getting in deep mess with Denver, Jorge's minion. Considering both of them were M.I.A, Annalise allowed herself to panic.

Frank rushed out the door, not saying anything. She knew that he was heading to Wes's old flat to try and find Laurel, so Annalise picked up her bag and coat and rushed over to Bonnie's small house, hoping that the A.D.A and her closest friend had somehow forgot that she was meant to be going to see Annalise, and went home instead.

She got out of the car and ran to Bonnie's door, getting out her set of keys. Bonnie had given her a key many years ago, back when the two had started to get closer.
'Just in case' The petite blonde had told her, with that timid grin on her face. Annalise smiled a little at the memory. That was a good day, but remembering where she was and what was happening, she shook herself from the memory and unlocked the front door.

"Bonnie? Are you here?" She called out. After getting no response after a few seconds, she tried again.
"Bon? It's me, Annalise. I need to talk to you". Again, no response. Annalise shrugged her coat off, hanging it up on the hook next to one of Bonnie's, and pulled her stilettos off. Barefooted, she shuffled upstairs to see if Bonnie was asleep in her room, after all, it was late.

She opened the bedroom door to see nothing but an empty bed. She sighed and walked over, to perch on it. She let the tears fall, slowly but slowly. This was her fault. After firing Bonnie, the blonde had started to distance herself, she became an A.D.A and got involved in all this mess. If Annalise didn't fire her, she wouldn't have become an A.D.A and would never have got caught up in the Antares mess with Denver and Jorge. If Annalise didn't fire her, Bonnie would still be here with her, alive.

Her phone ringing broke through the empty silence of the small house. She was expecting the call, Bonnie had her down as her I.C.E, just as Bonnie was Annalise's, ever since Sam. She wiped her eyes and cleared her throat.
"This is Annalise Keating"
"Annalise? Are you crying? What's wrong?" Bonnie's voice sounded through the phone, alarm evident in her tone. Annalise started crying harder.
"You're alive. You're not dead"
"Why would I be dead?!"
"Haven't you heard? There was an accident. I thought it was you. I thought Denver got to you. You said you were coming to my hotel and then you never arrived and Nate said there was an accident and...God...I thought you were dead"
Annalise rambled on, voice breaking several times because of the tears still pouring down her face.

"Hey shhhh, it's okay. I'm alright. I had to go back to work to pick a couple things up. I'm at the Hotel now. I called to see where you are"
"I went to your house, I wanted to see if you came home instead of coming to see me because you forgot or you were tired"
Bonnie chuckled sadly and promised Annalise that she was on her way and that she wouldn't be long.

Annalise went back downstairs and curled up on the couch, waiting for her blonde friend to come home. Just over 10 minutes later, (10 minutes and 37 seconds to be exact, Annalise counted) the sound of a key being turned in the door was heard and Annalise breathed a sigh of relief, she really was alive.

"Hey" Bonnie called softly as she walked over to the couch and curled up beside Annalise, wrapping her arms around the smaller woman and pulled her close. Annalise didn't realise she was still crying until she felt a wet patch on Bonnie's silk shirt. Bonnie rubbed her back and just hummed a lullaby, instantly soothing her.
"It's okay, I'm still here. I'm not going anywhere. I promise" Bonnie whispered into Annalise's hair as she carried on rubbing circles on her back.

After a while, Annalise sat back up, but still staying close to Bonnie, as if she was scared to let her go in case she disappeared.
"Thinking you were dead killed me Bon, you mean so much to me, I don't know what I would do if you weren't here. I've been such a bitch to you recently and I'm so sorry. I've never felt fear like that before, not even with Sam. I need you Bonnie, I don't think I could live without you"
"I need you too Annalise, these past few months have been absolute torture for me. I forgive you. Always"

Silent tears starting pouring down Annalise's face again. Bonnie forgiving her just like that meant so much to her. It was that moment she realised that she felt something for the younger woman. The feelings had always been there but Annalise has never allowed herself to feel them, she didn't want to, she was scared.

She looked down to see that her fingers were laced with Bonnie's. It felt so right. She looked up to see Bonnie's brown eyes staring into her soul. Annalise cleared her throat
"Can I...Can I kiss you Bon?"
Bonnie flushed bright red and looked down, a quiet 'yes' coming from her lips. Annalise shuffled closer and placed a finger on Bonnie's chin, forcing her to look up. She leant in and pressed a light kiss to Bonnie's lips, lasting no longer than a few seconds.

"I know things are going to be hard sometimes but I need you Bonnie, everyday, by my side, and not just as my friend or colleague. Will you come back and work with me, as my partner, in both senses of the word?"
Annalise looked down, oddly shy. She was never like this, with anyone. Bonnie definitely was someone special.
"Annalise, of course I will. I love you, and I have for a while. I'm completely and utterly devoted to you."
"This isn't going to be easy, the press would say bad things and we both know I'm not the best at relationships. Are you sure you want this?"

Annalise was giving her an out, she didn't want to trap Bonnie in something that would make her unhappy. She's had to deal with that far too much in her life. Annalise was so busy battling her inner demons, she didn't notice Bonnie leaning forward. The firm pressure of warm lips upon hers broke her out of her internal monologue. This kiss lasted a lot longer, and was definitely a lot more passionate than before. Bonnie broke the kiss and gave a small smirk
"Does that answer your question?"
Annalise returned the smirk.
"It wasn't very clear, maybe you should try again"
Bonnie rolled her eyes playfully and leant in again. After a few minutes, Bonnie pulled away and stood up, holding out her hand.
"Come on, let's go to bed. It's been a long day and we both need our sleep."
Annalise grabbed her hand and let the petite blonde lead her upstairs to her bed. They weren't going to have sex or do anything like that, and Annalise was happy just the way things were.
