Once upon a time
There was a girl,
She sat in the back of the room;
To avoid the interrogation of math questions,
To stray from confrontation of reality.
The girl who let malevolence cave in;
conquering the kingdom in her mind
That once hid her from the world.
Once upon a time
She met a boy.
Her once sewed mouth,
Pried itself open.
She decided she'd sit in front of the class,
Her hands became less hesitant to soar above the rest.
Months had gone by
She was finally happy,
A smile gleaming across her face.
Then, she got a note.
Same old story,
Boy finds a girl
Tells her that he loves
"He'll never let her go.
Mountains could part them
But their love bounds them together"
Next week passes,
He doesn't call as much.
His eyes are dull when he glances at her.
Then he finally says he's going on a date,
He's laughing at her, she feels like a disgrace.
Tears drip, dripping down her face,
Falling onto the bed,
Now the only place she can feel safe.
There is always an ending to a story
No one warned her..
Not all endings are "Happily ever after".
Once upon a time
There was a girl.
She'd made her skin a muse.
Cuts and bruises
Help cover up the anxiety,
Enjoying the feeling of abuse.
All it ever did was make her bleed.
Self consumed by her own self hatred,
Wanted to make herself feel whole again.
But all it ever did was make her body cry all the tears
buried deep inside.
The pain always found a way
To keep knocking on her door,
Clawing from the inside.
No words
No therapist
Could pull her out of the hole she dug
6 feet deep
She vowed she'd just sleep it off.
