MOONLIT COMFORT

It was times like these where Izzy would just crack, forget all sense of reason and feel like bawling her eyes out. She worked hard to keep her bubbly and outgoing facade going, when in reality she was terrified half of the time. She just felt happy when others were happy, so she made it her own personal mission to make the people around her happy. But however, now she found herself helpless and overly distraught over a small fight with Ivy. Usually these things didn't bother her but for some reason she was feeling overly sensitive and desperately wanted a hug or something to ease her mind.

After the verbal battle, Izzy had just run out into the night, letting the cold, crisp air flush against her creamy skin. She didn't know where she was running, she just knew that she had to get away so no one could catch her weaknesses. After a good five minutes of sprinting aimlessly, she stopped herself in front of a large oak tree. Panting, she brings out her hand and holds her body up against the trunk of the tree, attempting to regain breath. Tears blur her vision and she stifled a sob against her free hand. Without thinking, she claws her hands onto the tree, hoisting herself up and climbing up the bark. She climbed as high as she could until she felt exhaustion take over, swinging her body onto a thick branch that could support her body weight. After she felt secure, she looked down but averted her eyes back up again when she realised how high up she was. She mentally slaps herself for being so reckless, remembering her daunting fear of heights.

Taking a few slow breaths, she relaxes herself, sighing and leaning her head back. She gazed over the treetops of the forest, letting the sounds of the night sing her a lullaby. Her bottom lip trembled a little, eyes watering up again but she swallowed the tears down. Her mind wandered over the recent events, she felt a little silly and over dramatic, but at the time everything seemed extremely difficult.

Her thoughts are cut off when the sound of her name echoed throughout the forest. Harry. She shakes her head, a small, weak smile playing on her lips. Of course he would be the one to come out to find her, he always seemed to be there when she needed someone the most. It was always a quality that she admired about him, among the other lovable qualities he possesses.

She watched from up above as he wandered around aimlessly, calling out her name, his eyebrows furrowed in frustration when he couldn't spot her. She felt bad letting him worry, but as much as she enjoyed his company, she didn't feel like explaining herself. She watched him sigh, head down and leaning his back against the tree she placed herself in. She shuffles around in her spot, causing the sound of rustling leaves to leak into his ears, his head snaps up, vivid green eyes catching on to Izzy's curled up figure. His features relax, running a hand through his hair.

"And how do you plan on getting down from there?" he calls out humorously.

She doesn't respond, only shrugs. He purses his lips, looking the tree up and down before grabbing onto it. Izzy felt the movement of the tree and she peered over at Harry who hauled himself up the trunk. She shakes her head, silently praying that he wouldn't fall and hurt himself.

With limited struggle, he manages to make it to where she is, bringing himself up onto the branch and sitting himself so his legs dangled on each side of the large branch, facing her. She refused to meet his eyes, he frowns, slowly grabbing her chin and turning her face towards him. His frown deepens when his jade eyes meet her glassy hazel ones.

"Are you okay?" he asks softly, his hand moves up to her cheek.

She nods, "I'll be okay," she sniffs, eyes dropping.

He sends her a sad smile, his arms sliding down to her waist, pulling her into his chest, arms tightening around her smaller frame. His embrace was warm and welcoming, Izzy found herself melting into his comforting hold.

"Don't worry, I know you'll be okay," he mumbles into her hair, her ears fluttering and tail unwinding.

"You always find a way, it's one of the things I love about you," he continues.

She smiles, her lips placing a small kiss upon his jawline. He chuckles at the tickling sensation, pulling away a little to meet her eyes.

"I love you Harry," she whispers, admiring the way his emerald eyes seemed to shine under the light of the moon.

A dimple rises on his cheek as he smiles back at her, "I love you too Izzy, so much."

He places his warm lips on hers, hand coming up to cup her jaw, kissing her gently. It was short but sweet, just as meaningful as all the other times they've kissed. He pulls away, a grin laced on his lips. He looks away from her for a moment, looking over her shoulder to the ground.

"So uh, how do we plan on getting down?"...
