The room was full of dancing couples enjoying the soft graceful music.
The light dimmed and a spotlight shown down on a man and a woman dressed in expensive clothing.
The woman was wearing a gold dress with puffed sleeves and a ruffled skirt. The man had a black tux with black shoes and white gloves.
He stood up straight his hair slicked back. The woman had her long brown hair put up in a bun, held up by sparkling pins.
They dance, but they're not happy. The woman's face is sad. She stops dancing. The woman walks away into the darkness, leaving the man alone.
A sad melody begins to play. Something tragic has happened, leaving the man depressed. Mourning for the woman in gold.
The music now sounds happy, and uplifting. The man begins to think of the good times, remembering the last dance they had.
It's not long before the music sounds sad again. The man soon realizes, that the woman he once loved isn't coming back.
Time goes on, and the man is still sad. He tries to forget about what happened and move on, but no matter what the man chooses to do it doesn't make it better.
No matter what he thinks about, he always comes back to his sadnesses. He tries and tries, but it's useless. The sadness is a part of him and there was nothing he could do to change that.
His life goes on, it seems slow, but before he knows it, winter has come and gone. Spring was here.
The sun was warm and bright. Birds sang from the trees and the air smelt of sweet flowers and moisture. He tried to be happy of the thaught of spring, but no happy thoughts came.
The only thing he could think of was rain, and that only made him gloomier.
He ignored the beautiful songs the birds made, and the beautiful flowers that bloomed in the grass.
The days dragged on...
And his sadnesses began to grow stronger, and his body began to grow weaker.
He felt lost and alone.
All of his thoughts, and his only thoughts, were of her, and only her.
Anytime he saw something that reminded him of her, he would get rid of it. Beautiful flowers grew out in front of his house, and soon he dug them up and threw them into the fireplace.
When the sun would shine through his windows, he would put all the blinds down so that not a trace of sunlight could get through.
Music was banned from his home. Ever since that day he has never hummed a tune, music was lost.
The piano had covered coats of dust to use as a protective layer from the sadness that filled the house.
And in the man's pocket held a ring, that is a reminder of the woman he once loved. And all the happiness that was taken away from him forever.
