I was stuck in my mind for
What seemed like the longest time
I was friends with all of my demons
Every one, part of larger legions
An army that's sworn to keep the light from my heart
I was content with my soul being torn apartI was used to the noxious fumes of my decaying soul
But the darkness in me started taking it's fated tollMy monsters asked me, "Do you wish to see the light?"
I said yes and they took my hand and clutched it tightThey led me out of the night
Out of my mind
Out of the darkness where I live
(My heart, covered with blight
What could I find
To cure my corroding soul?)I saw the real world
The one bathed in radioactive light
Everyone wore a mask
Indeed, it was such a curious sightFalse prophets preaching to the masses
Lies being told in education classesEveryone was herded like sheep
Denied to be their own person
Unaware of the world around them
Stuck in a peaceful awake-sleepSo
I climbed back into my mind
I embraced my darkness
I'd rather be on my own
Than become just another clone-Credit to PresPoverty
