Chapter one

It was around 3pm...the moment the earth began to shake. The sky darkened as the howls were deep within the forest just outside of an illuminated house. In the distance, a gulf of blue, water-like energy began to form the shape of a man and a woman. The man dressed in royal blue with jeans whispered to the woman, "It's time. We don't have much longer before he arrives to claim what has been stolen. The woman dressed in camo jogging pants with an Under-Armor jacket says with tears in her eyes, "But why must she be left here? Why not be left in Olympus with Hermes, even though I hate to rely on men, it's better than this". As the two argued, the cloth in the women's hand had begun to move. As the two strangers stopped talking to see the cloth move, a child emerged from underneath it with brown skin and blue crystal, water-like eyes. The child looked at the two strangers, smiling and reaching her chubby hands out to touch them. The woman, with tears streaming down her cheeks, put the child on the door step. As the child looked up, she saw the two figures smile. The man said in a calm tone, "Remember us Gwen, we will meet again soon". With the whisk of his hand the two disappeared under a warp of blue energy.

Eighteen years later

Beep-Beep-Beep

"Ugggghh" says Gwen as she woke up to the sound of her skull alarm clock. She wiped her eyes looking around her room for her glasses. As she picked them up, she looked around the room. The sun shined through the window onto the desk where her laptop laid. As she turned to silence the alarm clock, she looked down grabbing her phone to see what time it was. "OH .... I'm late for my class trip!" In a panic, Gwen stumbled out of her bed to get ready. She knew the night before when she packed that if she was late she'd miss out on the chance to get a seat on the boat with her friends. She grabbed her suitcase, laptop, and bookbag as she ran out her room. "Gwen! You're going to be late if you don't hurry!" said her Mom. "Coming!" said Gwen as she made her way downstairs to the kitchen. She went to the table and was instantly engulfed in the smell of Cinnamon rolls and Bacon. Her mom who had just finished making breakfast handled her four plates with tinfoil on them. "For you and your friends" she said in a sweet tone. "Thanks Mom!" said Gwen as she gave her mom a hug good-bye as she left out the front door.

Gwen raced through the busy streets of Atlanta to the Marta Station. She knew she only had a few minutes to get to her train before it left. "S...", she thought as she leaped over the nearby debris from the recent construction site. She made a quick right turn as she approached the subway. "Almost there," she thought as she made her way to the enter the tunnel. Just two seconds away from the subway, Gwen tripped on a nearby rock. As she was about to fall she felt something pull at the collar of her shirt. She turned around to see Vic holding on to her while Trey stood beside him. "Same old Gwen always getting in trouble" said Vic. "So, you're late too," said Gwen dusting off her clothes and catching her breath. "Yeah, Vic wouldn't wake up when his alarm went off so I had to get him'' said Trey with a smirk on his face. Vic looked down to at his watch. "Uhh guys you might want to get a move on if you to make it to the train," he said. "Shoot!" said Trey and Gwen as they looked at the time.
