Chapter 1: Whats This?

"Suraj! Stop taking Buzzfeed quizzes and do your work," Jenna yelled regretting her choices and asking herself why she chose this science fair group; but in reality, she knew why. 

"Hello, kiddies," spoke Seth in his British accent as he walked into Suraj's house with his brother Sean who looked annoyed (as always) but who could blame him. Everyone was stressed because of the science fair project that would be due in two weeks.

"You're late," yelled Jenna and Suraj simultaneously.

"And stop trying to be a Brit, It will never happen," added Jenna angrily.

"Yeah...sorry. We had to pick up our sister from daycare," muttered Seth with an awkward but apologetic smile that somehow made Jenna forgive him right away. "So, what did I miss?"

"Oh, we were just typing up the abstract," said Suraj.

"I was doing all the work, Suraj is just on Buzzfeed taking quizzes," said Jenna annoyingly. 

"Haha...yeah. Look Seth take this quiz!" said Suraj wanting to do anything that wasn't productive. 

"Ew, no Suraj," said Sean. "Get on Glor.io lets play." Seth and Suraj soon followed Sean and got on Glor.io.

15 minutes later...

"Well, maybe we should help Jen with the abstract. Can't let the birthday girl do everything," said Seth Britishly trying so hard to be a Harry Potter character. (In your dreams Seth)

"Wait, Jenna, it's your birthday? Happy Birthday!" exclaimed Suraj. 

"Wow, okay," said Jenna sarcastically, still shocked that Seth remembered her birthday. She knew it wasn't a big deal but it meant a lot coming from him. She tried brushing it off and continued to work.

Seth was the first to get picked up. Luckily it was great timing because everyone finished typing and submitting their work to the teacher. 

After Seth left, Jenna found a mysterious box on the table the students were working on.

"Hey, Suraj, I think Seth left this," said Jenna confusingly.

"Oh, yeah," said Suraj nervously. "Um, he told me that was a gift for you while you went to the bathroom." 

"Oh," said Jenna in a monotone voice not wanting her true feelings to show in front of Suraj.

"Well, open it," said Suraj feeling a bit guilty for not remembering Jenna's birthday but they were never as close and Seth and Jenna were. 

As Jenna slowly opened the small box revealing a simple yet beautiful silver necklace that looked a bit costly. Jenna played with the pendant, admiring its simplistic beauty.

"Oooooo," exclaimed Suraj as a blush spread across Jenna's face.
