Lawrence’s POV
Walking to school is so tedious. But at least with my friends it’s better. Michael and Justin agreed to wait for me today. It took forever to find my science homework, suddenly I heard a moo which took us by surprise. By surprise, I mean surprise, ‘cause in our part of town, there were no animals, not even cats or dogs, which I know is quite strange, but I live in a strange part of town, so whatever. Anyway, it turned out to be from a farm that we’d visited not long ago, at least according to the tag on it’s and my brother. Oh, did I forget to mention? Michael is my identical twin brother, in fact the only difference is that we speak in different patterns and have different attitudes, but we’re so similar that we practically have a telepathic link. Anyway, back to the story, of course Justin screamed
“Toxic cow! Run!”
And of course, we ran, it chased after us. After a minute of running for our lives, my brother (who was incredibly observant) noticed something stuck to my shoe and asked,
“What the heck is that on your shoe?”
Looking down, I saw a greenish plant, stuck on the sole. Funny, it almost seemed to be moving. And if I smelled it, I would feel nauseous.
Justin’s POV
After we recovered from running, never Lawrence or Michael’s strong spot, Michael made a ridiculous comment, he said,
“That cow almost seemed like a katoblepone! Like from Greek mythology, you know, the poisonous one?”
And of course, someone had to sneak up on us. A dark haired girl stepped from the shadows, almost as if she just appeared from them, she replied to Michael’s comment.
“It was real, and so am I, don’t worry, you guys aren’t going mad.”
Right, that’s what all lunatics’ visions say. She could see my doubt, so she nicked me with her iron knife (at least I think it’s iron). At least it would have been a regular nick except for some reason it started gushing abnormally, it shouldn’t even have left a drop.
Michael’s POV
“Well, well, well. Looks like someone has a little knack of this already. You guys might not be the one I’m looking for but I’ll bring you people anyway.”
It was the black haired girl. She wore a white shirt with a blue diamond patterned vest and a blue frilled skirt.
“And who exactly are you looking for?”
This time, it was Justin. Confused, he walked closer but the girl stepped away.
“You might have seen that but you still have the sense of a mortal. I don’t think you are one of the god spawn and I don’t even treat them nicely, so be careful where you tread.”
She threatened. Justin stopped walking.
“Anyway,” she continued “It’s time we leave. I don’t feel like unnecessarily killing demons today.”
Sauntering of, we followed, in fear of being attacked by another cow. Fortunately for us, we did not have to walk that far. Because about three seconds later, we were hit by a bicycle.
Chloe’s POV
The annoying group have sensed that I am dangerous. This saves me a lot of time, as I won’t need to keep stopping to keep them in shape. But just a few steps afterwards, I found a boy hurtling in my direction. I jumped sideways, the bicycle just missing my foot. Turning around, the boy on the bike crashed into the other three.
“Oh man! I’ve got to pick these up again! I was just about to beat my record again! Damn!”
The boy behind me mumbled as he picked up each individual paper. He had brunette hair the colour hazelnuts, but a sort of gray-and-colourful touch to his eyes. He was wearing a shirt with of a picture of Sheldon Cooper sitting on the “Game of Thrones” seat. It said “It’s my seat”.
“Fan of ‘The Big Bang Theory’?”
I said. It wasn’t everyday I saw a “Big Bang Theory” fan like me.
“Yup” he replied “the best T.V. show ever.”
“What a straightforward person.” I thought. There was also something about him that I could sense. Something not like a mortal has. I noticed an engraving on his bicycle.
“I . . . . J . . . J.L. . . . J.R . . . J.R. . . J.R!”
I exclaimed. The random boy turned around.
“What are you using my initials for? You can just call me Jonah you know.”
“Jonah Ringrose. I have been looking for you” I said. Standing up, I walked over to him.
“We need to leave. Now.”
