In creepypastas there is a sub-genre of sorts which is dedicated to detailing on rituals that you can perform which usually involve interacting with some sort spiritual/paranormal/demonic being however doing so will bring some sort of benefit to you (usually) but at a cost. Some popular examples of these creepypastas - or 'ritualpastas' if you will - are One-man hide and seek, 11 Miles, The Midnight game and Tomino's Hell to name a few. 

To quickly describe the 'Red Door Yellow Door' ritual it is a ritual where the subject goes into a dream like state and explores their own mind. It involves two people: one guide and one subject. The guide's job is to guide the subject around their mind, give useful advice and ask questions to the subject. The subject on the other hand is the person who is put into a dream-like state (the closest thing I can compare it to from experience) and navigates their mind. For a more detailed instructions on how to actually perform it they are in the next chapter with my notes with it from my experience of doing this.

As somebody who enjoys reading ritualpastas I one day managed to come across Red Door Yellow Door. Apparently this ritual originated from the same thread that the Three kings ritual was shared in, for some trivia, however in comparison to Three kings it is much easier to set up and is way safer as well. Due to the previously mentioned I have always wanted to perform said ritual as on a wider scope it is probably the safest ritualpasta that I have ever come across and the easiest to perform (well unless your like me and find it hard to find friends to do said ritual with because you're lonely).

I've also noted that this ritual shares similarities/sounds very similar to two other rituals: Purple Hearts and Doors to the mind. I believe that Doors to the mind is pretty much the exact same thing as Red Door Yellow Door but it has a different method of getting into the dream state however I think they have the same results. Purple hearts however seems to focus more on being in a dream and being in a hypnotized state however there isn't that much information that I can find on Purple hearts and most people seem to find that this one doesn't work.

Why would you want to do this?

Why not? Honestly it is quite fun listening to others exploring their minds as well as exploring your own. From my experience (and others) you can find some really symbolic stuff which can help you understand yourself better however it is also quite a cool thing to do at a sleepover with friends - especially if it's witching hour and your hyped up on sugar. While yes I will admit there can be some bad experiences (I've had them myself) overall it can be quite weird and fun. If that doesn't persuade you then some trips to my mind feel like they've come out of a fever dream and can be quite a good laugh.
