"No, no, no, move over your doing it all wrong you're going to make it explode." Rose said as she yanked the tube of hydrochloric acid away from Jake.
"No I'm not, your just overreacting it will be fine the measurement are close enough." Replied Jake as he tried to get the tube back from Rose as she poured it back into in the cylinder to remeasure the acid.
"And this is why you're not a chem major doofus, it's not right and you're going to make us fail the class. That is if you don't kill us before the class ends!" Rose shot back.
"Well you're not either. Me and you both know you will blow up a lab way before I would. You defiantly make a much better Dance major than any major that involves you to mess with any chem-" Jake starts to argues back as he starts mixing the two acids together.
"Will you two shut up over there, your bickering is disturbing the rest of us that can actually think and do something other than jump around and trying to look pretty." Rudely snapped someone from the other side of the lab. Rose turned and looked around to find out who said that. As she looks she sees a pair of dark blue eyes glaring back at her.
She flinched back in shock wow wonder who crapped in his cereal this morning she thought as she turned back to her and Jake's experiment. As they finished up their experiment Rose felt those dark blue eyes staring back at her the whole time. What did I do to him? She repeatedly wondered as she walked out of the classroom silently.
"What wrong?" Jake asked her as they walked to the dance studio for their next class.
"Nothing." She mumbled back as she walked off to the girls changing room to change into her leotard. The whole time she was not able to shake the image of those charming blue eyes glaring at her. She walked out of the changing room and met back up with Jake who had already started to warm-up.
"Are you ready to tell me what is wrong yet?" Prodded Jake looking worriedly at Rose.
"Nothing's wrong with me I'm fine just focusing on warming-up that's all" Rose lied not wanting Jake to know about her silly new fascination to a pair of eyes much less ones that belong to the biggest asshole on campus, William Grey, the star quarter back.
Jake not letting her get away with keeping stuff from him not to mention the fact she just lied to him, something she knows plain and well that her lying makes him even more worried. He gave her the most stern looking glare he could muster. "Rosaline Jones, tell me right now what is wrong with you right now or you won't like what happens to you tonight" He told her in a stern playful voice.
Rose glanced up from tying her shoes to her ankles knowing plan and well what he was insinuating, she finally told him what she was thinking about was William and how he seemed so mad at her and how she had no idea how he knew her much less why he hated her. Jake sighed. Rose stood up and gave him a quick side hug as she walked over to the barre for the start of class.
The whole time during their ballet class Rose noticed that Jake seemed a little pale, and after Ballet she noticed that he seemed really tired especially taking as the class was an entry level ballet class and they were both last year students at the New York Ballet Institute.
"Are you ok" she asked as they walked to there respective changing room.
"I'm fine" Jake grumbled as he walked into the guy's changing room and Rose walked into the girl's.
Rose changed back into her regular clothes, took her hair out of her bun, and hurried out the room to catch up with Jack knowing that he would have already finished changing before her and will be waiting outside for her. As she got outside she realized that he was not waiting out there and that he was still probably changing. Weird she thought as she waited I never get out before him, he's always waiting for me with a joke about I change too slow when he came out of the changing room he looked as bad or not worse than before.
"Are you sure you're ok? You look like you might die any second now." Rose joked elbowing him in the side. Jake just winced.
As they reached Jake's car Jake looked at Rose and finally responded to her earlier question "Do you mind if I just drop you off at your home? I think I just need some rest."
"That's fine, I need to catch up on my Chemistry homework anyways, not to mention the laundry that I need to do also." Jake just laughed and mumbled back something about how that would never get done.
Once Rose got home she started her laundry, grabbed her Calculus homework, sat down on the floor, and started studying while she stretched. The more that she studied the more her mind started to wander. Once she started googling werewolf mythology she gave up on trying to study and texted Jake to see what he was doing and if he was feeling any better. After no response she figured he was probably asleep, and decided to just go to bed also.
The next morning Rosaline woke up to a text from Jake: Sorry for not texting you back last night. I'm still not feeling good this morning so I won't be in classes today.
Odd she thought. She had never seen Jake get sick since they were kids. Feeling dumb for worrying, everybody gets sick every once and a while, she replied back: Ok hope you feel better soon I will drop off my notes at your house.
Jake quickly replied back: That's ok I don't need you to drop them off. I will just get them from you later.
Feeling slightly hurt, Rose got ready for school, grabbed a protein bar, and ran out the door. As she got into her chemistry lecture class the teacher started teaching. The teacher taught for a few minutes then announced that he wanted the class to separate into partners and complete the questions in the back of the chapter. Everybody partnered up and Rose, feeling out of place, raised her hand and asked the teacher who he wanted her to work with taken as her partner was sick and not here. The teacher looked around pointed to William, who's partner was also out, "Is your partner here?"
"No, but i don't want to be hers" Will snapped back as he shot Rose a hateful glare. "I would rather do it by myself than have to teacher also."
Rose flinched back at the crude and hurtful remark. The teacher though, pissed about how disrespectful Will was, snapped back, without missing a beat, "Well to bad you and her are now partners till when ever her partner gets back, and you WILL help her do the work or you WILL fail my class."
Will sulked over to Rose with his book, as everyone watched him shocked. "You better know how to solve these compounds, because I'm not going to teach you how to do it."
"Well ok then good thing I'm not stupid and incompetent then huh" Rose snapped back hurt and confused why he was so mad at her. Rose then quietly opened her book to the needed page and started to do the work. After she finished the first problem she asked Will to look it over and do the next problem. They repeated this process till class finally ended. As Will went to pass her the paper back, for her to write her name down on the paper and turn it in, she brushed his hand by accident. She gasped as what felt like a small wave of electricity pass through her starting from her hand. She quickly brushed the feeling off and turned in her paper. As she went back to her seat to grab her book bag she saw Will. As if he knew she was looking he shot her, what was now becoming his famous, glare at her and walked out of the room before she could say anything to him.
As Rose went to her other classes she fought the urge to bother Jake and call him to talk to him about what happened to her in chemistry class, but knowing that would just stress him out and make him mad she decided not to.
That night when Rose fell asleep, she had her first dream of Will and Jake. They were all three sitting in a yard beside a small lake, laughing and having a picnic. Then all of a sudden Jake crumples over in pain. Then Will did the same. Rose terrified tried to look away, but couldn't look away. Then suddenly where Jake and Will stood was two beautiful wolves. She stepped forward in awe. That's when the siring pain broke through her body. The pain. The pain was all she could think of. The pain. It was all she could feel then the pain changed she could feel her bones breaking and changing in her body. Once it subsided she slowly walked over to the lake's edge to wash off the lingering feeling of pain that imprinted in her brain. She looked down at her reflection in the water, but she was no longer there. There where she sat was not a blonde haired girl, but a large black wolf looking back at her.
