As Aurora ran the track at her school, she kept thinking about what it would be like when she went home. Home to her drunk, abusive dad, home to her annoying little brother, home to all the shit she had to put up with some on a daily basis . But as Aurora had thought the thoughts she quickly reminded herself "Same thing different day." Aurora had grow immune to the constant sound of glass bottles be ing shattered, the constant feeling of being hit, the constant tears rolling down her face. she grew immune to it all. She was numb. Emotionless. Trapped in a constant cycle of abuse and annoyance. After, the school bell rang, Aurora was in no hurry to get home, she slowly walked up too the rickety old apartment in hopes her father would be passed out. Today was a lucky day for Aurora. He was out cold. Her father was dead asleep. Aurora was thrilled. "Thank god!" she exclaimed as she walked into her room. She did her homework, watched Television, took a shower, ate dinner, and went to sleep. Aurora felt a weird sensation, as if she felt an emotion for the first time in a long time. A sense of comfort and tranquility, for the first time in a while Aurora cried. But these were tears of joy, and she cried herself to sleep.
